sounds more like a conspiracy to force us to buy hogs, must resist, keep credit card in wallet, hide wallet in safe, throw away save key, forget about key, buy a blowtorch

now I have to go out for another copy of Catcher and the Rye.

They should all be gone from the stores... because I bought them all!!!!????

....I gotta go to the store!!!!!

The swamp is down, there are earthquakes in the middle east, and invisible helicoptors everywhere!!!!!! OMG I need a new SWKW offering!!!!!

Whilst I agree with the thrust of what Q is saying I don't see why that has any special bearing on this. That all pretty much revolves around the way the site/s are written and linked together. And indeed, that could be executed very much better, but it is not imperative here.

At the center of this is the server and the sys admin tasked to maintain it. That person should have been able to switch to the back up within a few minutes. That's one of the core skills I pay sys admin for. Obviously I'd be more accommodating if I were under a denial of service flood attack or something, but this...

I would respectfully disagree BT. Having a well thought-out internet strategy includes disaster preparedness planning, redundancy, and planning for issue resolution. The current issue with the RatChat forum indicates a failure to plan adequately for inevitable software/hardware problems and/or failures.

Perhaps I am stating the obvious, but look at how often noobs show up on the Swamp asking where they can purchase the knives. I imagine every post like that is worth about 100 or so people that don't bother to log in and ask that question themselves. Somebody wake me when the site is back up. ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Still not working! Anything to do with the web site was never a strong point of the Swamp.

yep still not working and with blade and keepin all the head rats/and the bully busy i bet it wont be working till next week.

now all we need is a sneak peak of the rats at blade.

This is not a new topic, guys. Eric has discussed the problems with the web site for a very long time. But nothing ever changes. So web site issues are obviously not something Eric can address.

The only person who can authorize the necessary changes is Jerry Busse. Apparently Jerry has other priorities.

Has anyone sent an e-mail to busse@bright.net. I bet none of you lazy rats has sent an e-mail! Rat Bastids. You all probably expect someone else to send the e-mail. Well, I'm not gonna send it! Somebody jump on that e-mail. I'm getting the DT's here. And while yer at it go buy one of my knives in the exchange forum. Oh, wait, am I allowed to reference one of my sales here? Probably not. Forget that last part. BUT GO SEND THAT E-MAIL!!!

Sent an email to whoever saying the website is down not that they don't know.:( Anyway, sure hope it comes back up soon because I started a thread that needs some answering!:D
