Honest lady, I haven`t seen your cat.

I believe the US Army Air Corps broke off from the Army some time after WW II and became the Air Force.

So we have:

US Navy
USMC
US Air Force
US Army
Coast Guard

So that make 5 Branches of the Armed service.

FYI, The USMC still has a Air Wing (Fixed Wing Figher Planes) because they never gave them up.

Doesn't the CIA count as armed service?
How 'bout the NSA?
Or the BATF?
Or the FBI?
Or the DEA?
Or the UN?
Or any of the other unconstitutional, federal, alphabet, paraMILITARY, ninja, agencies?

Moral: Don't trust anyone that has to wear a black ski mask to perform their job and don't trust cats.
They are all KILLERS.

To settle any disputes.

The US Army was founded on 14 June, 1775
The US Navy on 13 October 1775, the Department of the navy was established on 30 April 1798
US Marine Corps 10 Nov 1775
US Coast Guard 4 August 1790

26 July 1946 "President Truman signed the "National Security Act" (NSA) of 1947, establishing the National Military Establishment and a seperate Air Force."

Edited for typing error.

26 July 1946 "President Truman signed the "National Security Act" (NSA) of 1947, establishing the National Military Establishment and a seperate Air Force."

That's when president Truman approved it, it didn't take effect until Sept. 17, 1947. The very next day W. Stuart Symington was sworn in as the first Secretary of the Air Force.

My father came into the Army Air Corps and retired from the USAF. Go figure.:D

What's all this about a cat? Here kitty, kitty, kitty
