You can buy RenWax if you want but try to look up some of the geewhiz words they use....micro-crystalline wax? I have anti-seize for bolts claiming same stuff...i suspect paraffin...
Horn should be basically treated as wood and not one of them takes anything past surface....and the stuff should have cured before use to prevent gross shrinkage and all we are doing is moisturizing surface...use something oily or waxy which will not go rancid and create acids and it will be fine....most collectors of stag or ivory gripped anything have forever recommended a mineral oil coat applied heavy and allowed to soak in overnight periodically and it is apparently a great help....but most any similar thicker or thinner substance will work alone or mixed together to heart's content...as mentioned too many times i use a goop of beeswax/vaseline/mineral oil on everything....even me...it keeps things simple rather than complicated.
