I should clarify a few things.

1. I have completely given up on trying to purchase folding knives ...... I do not believe that modern science has advanced far enough to construct a folding knife that is not CRAP ...... Benchmade single-handedly ruined the folding knife experience for me ...... I have looked at (approximately) twenty Benchmade knives at various stores in central Texas ...... Out of the twenty I looked at ...... Only TWO had blades that were centered ...... Buying a folding knife is like buying a lottery ticket ...... The chances of getting a winner are virtually nonexistent.

2. I will NEVER purchase another knife that comes with a plastic or nylon case ...... Unless ...... I am so in love with the knife that I am willing to throw the plastic/nylon case in the trash ...... (Which is where ALL nylon/plastic cases belong) ...... And purchase a leather case separately ...... When you put a $100 ... $200 ... $300 .... Knife in a plastic/nylon case ...... It makes the knife look cheap and trashy ...... There is no such thing as a nylon/plastic case that properly fits the knife it comes with ...... Science has not advanced that far yet ...... It is physically impossible to build a plastic/nylon case that will fit a knife properly ...... It can't be done ...... Leather (when constructed properly) is beautiful and it conforms to the knife ...... Plastic/nylon either causes the knife to get stuck in the case because its too tight ...... Or the knife is loose because the case is too big ...... We can send a man to the moon ...... We can elect a United States President with Facebook trolls ...... However ... We have not advanced far enough to build a plastic/nylon knife case that fits a knife.

That is the Gospel of weezer919 ...... Red letter edition ...... down from the mountain ...... onto the tablets ...... Hallelujah ...... Amen.

Just look at his other post a troll and a bad one at that. But in order to stay on topic buy a buck or a CRK or a custom if you have lost all faith in folders. And for heavens sake make sure what you get has a leather sheath/case until technology catches up.

You mean the heretical writings of a lunatic that fetishizes sharp tools to the point that not a single one is ever going to be good enough?

To the OP ...

If you expect "perfection" in any mass-produced item at any price point, you are S.O.L..

You might also want to consider the fact that cosmetic "imperfections" do not affect the performance or usefulness of a knife.
There are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of people here on the forum, and millions of people around the world who have and use the same knives (and nylon sheaths) that you are complaining about, and, yet they have no problems or complaints when using them, and recommend those same knives (and nylon sheaths) to others with a clear conscience.

Leather sheaths can cause corrosion, if it gets wet, or if you store the knife in it for long periods of time. (Please note that I said "may" not "will". There is a difference.)
Kydex sheaths may dull the blade when you put the knife in, or take it out.
(Again, I said "may" not "will". The Kydex sheaths that came with my Cold Steel 'G.I. Tanto' and Buck 470 Mentor do dull the blades. The Kydex sheath that came with my Buck 877, does not.)
The nylon sheaths I have, be they for a fixed blade or a Buck 110, fit just fine.
They carry the knife, and the knife does not fall out when walking through the woods, when I sit down, or even when I ride my bicycle. They are also easy to clean if they get mud or critter and fish blood on them.
What more do I need?
Oh! The nylon sheath for the Buck 110 also gives me the choice of vertical or horizontal carry. The factory leather sheath is vertical carry only.

I admit I prefer a leather sheath, but only because it is more traditional. That said, I find myself using the nylon sheaths more than my leather or Kydex sheaths. And, yes, most of my fixed blades do fit in another knife's sheath, as long as the blade length is the same.

Crank up your Google machine and look up kydex sheaths if you want something more modern that actually involves a bit of science.

Your opinion on folders is ridiculous. There are plenty out there that aren’t crap, including Benchmade.

A little heads up....
Political nonsense does fly here at all.
Being an overly-opinionated snob will get you nowhere also.

As fixed blade you can try bark river.
Very nice design good carbon steel getting a screaming sharp edge and leather sheath.

What I own that quality and has good craftsmanship.

Folding knives- ZT and Spyderco
Fixed blade- White river knife and tool.

To directly address your issue towards fixed blades, White river makes a very well crafted product. Blades are beautiful and the sheath that comes with it is really well thought out. The two small fixed blades I have came with a well fitted kydex sheath with a belt loop that can be positioned 4 different ways.

Companies that Ive heard have good quality and craftsmanship-
Bradford knives
LT wright
Chris reeves
Spartan blades
Hinderer knives

In the past Ive had some bad experiences with companies when it came to quality and craftsmanship. I now only buy from a select few companies.

I’m really not sure that op don’t have some kind of disorder but, to the op, try anything made by Chris Reeve Knives and I think you’ll be happy. I would guess that around 99 out of 100 of them will be absolutely perfectly built. I’ve owned several and they were all built to perfection.

Also, weezer, care to elaborate what was wrong with your Mora(s) ? I'm genuinely curious since it seems like such a simple straight forward designed knife and sheath that I can't see anything being wrong with it?
Those darn plastic sheathes! No one told him it was going to be plastic!! For ten dollars that sheath should have been hand stitched by Swedish virgins in the highest peaks of the Scandinavian mountains and encrusted with diamonds!

You should start making your own knives. They will prob come out terrible but you will understand how difficult the process is and yet how functional a “not perfect” knife still is. Then think about making thousands of them at a competitive price point. I bought a okc rat 3 years ago. Great knife that has been worked hard and put away wet. Still one of my go to’s.

I'm sure some knives are not well made and have flaws. I've had a few that were less than perfect. I returned one that was poorly centered. But the vast majority Ive bought have been very well made including under a few under $40.00. My higher end knives have been extremely well made. I'm not sure what the OP is talking about other than to rant for rant's sake.
