Horse Hide for sheaths?

You got it man!!! That's nice edge work....I think my job is done here........who was that masked man??????
Seriously, very nice work.

Thanks (again) RB.
I've got a long way to go but I'm having fun.
Still can't get the edges to take the dye even after 8-10 applications.
Any suggestions. Do you (or others) use the edge dye that Fiebing offers?
I'll buy some if it works.
Charlie

EDIT; Saw one guy using a sharpie on youtube, but I think I'll pass on that idea. HA

I don't see anything wrong with your edges as they are....IMO, as long as they are smooth, you're good to go.
I have used Feibings edge dye in the past but to me it looks....well.......like I used an edge dye to cover up any short comings in my work.

Oh,,, OK then. See,,, I'm still learning from you even though you thought your work was done here. Pretty sneaky. huh?

I started sewing the axe sheath today. The sewing awl's not bad once I got the hang of it, but I'm not sure I like the finished product. Could just be the mechanic though. UPS says my snaps will be here today, so I'll finish it up and post some pix in a couple days.
I'll start a new thread though. This one's kinda turning into a novel. Ha

Later

Nice work on the sheaths. I also enjoyed all the information given. I also liked the look of the horsehide dye job.
