Rick, did he at least buy you dinner and a movie first.:D

Very cool pictures. Thank you for sharing.

BTW, I've never taken a shooting class, why is he touching you and why couldn't you get Jill to instruct you?

Hahaha

Some really excellent pictures there!

Im sure there is a reason, but limp wrists
used to indicate something completely different ...

the drill we were staging was to move front, back, and laterally while engaging a target. the instructor "steers" the shooter to keep them moving around the cones. this is to simulate a real world shooting where the operator has to negotiate a dynamic environment(curbs, benchs, vehicles etc)while engaging the target while moving. after you shoot a few rounds moving on your own at a speed that you are comfortable with, the instructor begins to push and pull you rapidly, while yelling at you. this induces stress to take you out of your comfort area to recreate a real shooting situation where the evironment isn't static.

either that or he likes touching guys. lol

Thanks Rick, that explains a lot. I just remember those videos with everyone touching Jill. That MAY have been for a different reason though.

the llamas are cool i like them i have 2 a 380 and a 22
they are also the only none us made firearms i own sorry i just want to support my own and i justified buying those because i was born on the Madrid air force base in Spain and i wanted to get my wife a 1911 that she could carry and fit her hand

I need some advice. I'm going to start loading up on some 12 gauge shells. For hunting small game do you think lead shot is ok or for $25 extra a case do you think it is better to get steel shot. I've never been a hunter so please excuse a novice question. It just doesn't seem like a great idea to accidently eat a lead shot. I can get Winchester lead shot for $59/250. Also, is there a good general purpose shot size you prefer.

Thanks guys.

I've never used steel shot Brian - only lead. Don't worry - You won't swallow the shot if you chew your food properly :D

I use No. 6 shot for rabbit & squirrel and 7 1/2 or 8 shot for dove & quail

Never hunted duck or geese, but I think you can only use steel shot for them

like bear said, you have to use steel shot for ducks and other water foul. it doesn't perform any better than lead, but its more "ecologically friendly". as far as eating the shot, you're gonna get some in your mouth, so just chew carefully. what are you planning on hunting?

I use steel for ducks (because you have to or the Federales will get you), lead for dove/quail, and that funny tungsten stuff for turkeys.

I was hoping to find a good load for ducks to rabbits. This will be my first year hunting. I just want to buy 1000+ "standard" rounds. These will be backup rounds for SHTF and I will be buying optimal rounds when I go hunting.

Thank you for the advice. I'm learning.

FUg the small game and switch to big game - then your optimal round will be good for game and foul ;)
