Rapid one side or the other cooling, is what causes warpage,, I am a nervous wreck on long blades,, like a sword,, all that work and it warps,,, it makes you sick,, these guys can remedy all that,,

The camp xl on the pass around,, warped,, I had to spend hours annealing it,, putting it in a vise, straighting it,, then another 10 hours heating it again,, I have like 25 hours oven time on her,, short blades, camps, no sweat.. but the long ones,, stressful

I think that vacum heat treat is interesting....besides it means more grinding time = more killer blades for us.
 
Havent been around much today.. Been playing poker:eek: Made around $280 these past two days. Decent decent.. Now It's 0500 AM here, and im dead tired! Hope to talk some more bullcrap tomorrow! G'nite guys!

This is a state of the art professional Heat treating Facility,, and equipment,, they have done all the heat treating for my work for the last 20 years,, experts in tool steel,, I'm just old school treating,, and it works great,, and I'm very happy with everything I have made,, but if it can be optimized,, using these methods,, it is worth trying,, I am one of the few makers, I know that treats there own tool steel, other than O-1,, the tool steel performance can be maximized,, by controlling quench temps and times,, we will see..
