I'm not sure since it was a gift, but J would be able to tell us. Cut anything yet?

Just cut a little with it. Used it to cut a small carpet I removed in my office and whittled a little just for fun. I am most impressed with the overall feel and heft of it. Really liking the thumb serrations as well.

That's cool fish,, Paul will like them both,, they are very different,, the tan handle one being one of the thickest at .310 with thicker canvas slabs,, and the a2 that was the thinnest of the ts1 knives. More taper to the tip, both very cool,

:cool::cool:

I finally sharpened the tip of the sword.

Lotsa cussing and cut up thumb and index finger. :rolleyes:

I did order the strop strap as per Brians recommendation.

Hey Paul - How did you sharpen this beast? I haven't had much experience with sharpening a blade this long, so curious as to what is the best method if you do it by hand.

Paul,, you better get you some practice,, cause I had Paul Bos put that sword at 56RC so it would take a royal asswoopin, so when you get these other blades they are runnin 59 for the a2 and 57 for the s7. You will need the new strop.. Have fun,,you will get it,,

I only had to do a small 1/2" section near the tip.

I used 600grit sand paper on a mousepad then stropped it with my Lee Valley strop and green compound.

To do the entire sword I ordered a strop strap. It will make stropping much easier. I went with black compound.

Then practice.

The sword is tough. I'm too ashamed to tell what I did but it survived.....:mad:

That is a nice strop, compared to the one I'm using now. I'm thinking belt sander and/or grinder might be the way to go in the future. The paper wheels are interesting. Longer blades, Recurves, and Khuk's might be alot less time consuming to sharpen. What do you recommend Jeremy?

I'm not worried about the swords,, I have beat the dog out of all of them!!

LoL - I'll come clean - I was dropping mine tip first on the wooden block...then it it went through the carpet into concrete floor in the basement tip first.

Ouch.....

Few scratches near the tip but survived intact. Couple of passes on the strop and she is shaving....
