How awesome is the Swick??

Nice pics man.., I got a question for ya, I tried to put the knife in its sheath and idk...it feels like it aint going in right. Is there something im missing?

It only goes one way. Sure u aren't putting it in backwards?

Lol...yeah man im sure, it feels like it doesn't go in all the way, no positive "click" unlike my esse knife I put it in the sheath and I hesr a click.

:o. Sorry man, I almost didn't ask that but you never know on here. :D Apologies for the implied but unintended insult.

I already posted this on the Spyderco forum but since I started this thread on both forums I figured I'd update this one too.....

Another Swick pic from today. This has become my go to knife on the kayak. Pacific salt still rides IWB but it's nice to have a pe blade on me that I can access so easily.

I'm thinking about ordering one of these after watching the YouTube video Spyderco posted a few days ago. Seems like a useful little blade.

I decided to pull the trigger and buy one of these. I've been having mine for a few weeks now. I didn't put any scales on it and I find that I have plenty of traction without it, even in water. I took the g clip off and it rides as a neck knife due to comfort and convenience. I just made a very simple lanyard out of paracord. No hard use or anything yet but so far I really like it.

FWIW, I took this knife in salt water for about an hour of swimming and snorkeling. I didn't clean the blade and oil it for about 6 hours until we got back on the cruise ship and to my surprise there was very little corrosion.

Yes, the blade itself holds up pretty well to salt water. The problem you will encounter is the actual edge will degrade fairly quickly. I have to sharpen mine at least once a week even if it is not getting used because the very thin edge is the most susceptible to corrosion. Still a great kayak knife and gets carried everyday.

Unfortunately, the market for the Swick is quite small and we'll more than likely not do another run.

I think if they were available at retailers instead of just the homepage then you would sell more. The average person won't go to your site but they go to sporting goods stores, Amazon etc.

I think it would definitely help.

The more I use this knife, the more I fall in love with it. Never thought I'd use a knife like this so much. If this design would ever be produced in H1 like the ARK is now, I'd be all over it. The enclosed finger hole is legit.

I have a Swick 4 and absolutely love it. It's attached to the strap of my mountain bike pack and it comes out with me every time I ride (which is almost every day). The sheath is great and I'm never worried that my knife is going to fall out. Easily used with my mountain bike gloves on...stoked on this little guy.

ouuu that sounds nice. What blade shape?

My eyes were recently opened to the versatility and usefulness of the reverse S blade in the lil Matriarch. I would think that blade shape would work wonderfully with the swick platform. Just an idea...ultimately I would be fine with any blade shape they chose.

I'm in for a reverse edge Swick in a more corrosion resistant steel.

I carry my Swick 4 OWB and actually have used it for some kitchen prep.

The knife would have great utility and self defense applications. I know we have the ARK, but that blade shape is not nearly as versatile.

I'd more than likely go with a leaf and consider a plain edge version as well as a serrated edge version.
