Victorinox SAKs are, dollar-for-quality, the best value in the industry today. There are some people that say they are made of crap steel, but in some people's opinions crap steel in anything that isn't S30V, D2, and whatever high-end steels there are. I love my EDC Sebenza too, but I also continue to carry at least one SAK on me every day (usually a Classic and a Soldier). I carried a Spartan model when I lived overseas for several years as my only EDC back then, and although I never abused it, it held up through some very nasty humid environments. Sure, it won't hold an edge like S30V, but the blades are very easy to resharpen. If they had S30V or other high-end specialty knife steels, they wouldn't be as inexpensive or available as they are; therefore they wouldn't be the same value for money. SAKs prove that, yes, you definitely can buy, own, and enjoy a high-quality knife without breaking your wallet, and without an overly big fear of using and losing it.
The only "crap" SAKs I know of are the Chinese-made knockoffs you sometimes see.
