I would say get better steel and gring your blades different. I felt the blade of a Leatherman and it is sharp!

I think they're fine for what they are for. Unless the improvement would be to lower prics while keeping quality the same.

gonna be hard to improve the cheap, red, usual thin knife.
May-be offering a serrated blade for those who like it?

Personally, if they could offer a differently shapped blade (on the usual small one), i think i'll buy it !

That's like asking "how could drop point hunter improve their knives?"..."Swiss Army" is not a brand name.

the usual basic model bellow ?

Maybe if they offered some models with better blade steel, like s30v, so they would hold their edge longer.

Its a tough question to answer since the Swiss are always neutral when the chips are down. How many did they send to Iraq???

They could come out with a line of rubber "trainer" models.

Wouldn't it be nice to practice bottle opening techniques before the time the pressure is really on you? Or really feeling confident with those scissors because you were able to practice with the rubber one previously. Think how many dentist bills could be saved because of someone not over estimating the capability of their toothpick since they were able to practice with their "trainer" before getting meat in their teeth.

That's about the only thing I can think of.

The Victorinox blades are better than what Leatherman uses and actually hold an edge pretty well. I would like a couple more with one-hand opening main blades. It might even be nice to have assisted opening for at least a small blade. I would like my favorite model, the Adventurer, to be available with a slightly wider, one-hand-opening, BG42 or S30V alloy blade.

I would also like a model that accepts replaceable sabre saw blades. These could be cached in the handle and manually affixed to the knife for use.

I've owned three of them. If they improved the blade steel much, it would make them too expensive. I find whatever they use is extremely easy to sharpen and sharpen to a razor edge. I like that and would prefer they keep itthe same. Only thing I can think of I'd like to see changed it improve the springs in the scissors so you don't get that "My scissors sciss but they don't or" syndrome.

some kind of locking for blades, and serrated blades available on most models? that is my 2 cents

thanks,

Maybe a custom program where you can mix and match blades and tools? Just a crazy thought...

Rubberized slip-resistant handles.

why can't every model have the stick pin and writing pen? it is not like they take up space and i find i could actually use them quite often but they are not on my chosen model.

I bought the scales for a swiss champ and put them on my deluxe tinker just so I could have the pin and pen. I call it the "deluxe, deluxe tinker"
