How deep is your Buck loyalty?

I have 3 or 4 knives which I made that I carry at times. All the rest of my knives are Buck. DM

I like what I own when it comes to my BUCK knives. My husband has my sweet Buck folding knives since I only use fixed blade knives due to my arthritis. (Two Buck 110 knives and two Buck '55' knives. I had him buy the SECOND Buck '55' knife for a back up since he liked it so much too!)

I trust the BUCK name, quality, warranty and my Buck knives are Made in Idaho. The 110 and 55 are made in Idaho too. I have called the Buck Company in Idaho a couple of times to ask them a question about their knives before I made a purchase too. My knives were bought in Missoula, MT and one came from Ronan, MT when I used up a full in store credit when I sold a bunch of my handguns on consignment at one of our favorite gun stores.

This is what I own now so you could say that I am a Buck Knife Lady. :)

Buck Ranger Skinner #113 FB Knife is my every single day carry knife and in my fanny pack.

Buck Woodsman #102

Buck #119 Special

Buck Vanguard

2 Buck PakLite Skinner Knives

* 1 Estwing Camp Axe

* 2 Sog Fasthawks

They are all BUCK fixed blade knives.

I like stainless steel and old fashioned carbon steel for blades. The only Damascus pattern that I really LOVE is called Ice Jam. I would buy a BUCK KNIFE if they made one in old fashioned carbon steel too. I like the patina on some older knife blades that my late Dad had too.

I own about 25% Buck, 25% Case, and 25% Schrade USA, with the last 25% being a mish-mash of mostly old (long gone) USA brands. When it comes to using my knives it is Buck only for heavy duty working knives and 90% of the time it's Buck for hunting knives. For EDC, when I'm making sales calls, I have a rotation of various brands of old knives that include my Buck 300 series. OH

99% of my collection is Buck. The other 1% is a small collection of Crosman Blades (probably 20 and I bet I'm the only person in the world that collects them) plus a few other miscellaneous.

Wow, that's like 2000 Buck knives, most people have an entire collection with a smaller dollar # than your collections actual knife#

I heard they made a total of 8000 knives in the old Custom Shop..... I know they made a lot more production knives.....

I have trouble picking out a favorite and my pile is 1/10th that size

This makes me feel better about my addiction, thanks Desoto

I would have to guess 96% Bucks, the other 4% gifts, fell into my pocket or just followed me home. I am a sucker for any homeless knife.

i was a little dissapointed by buck on two occasions i had there liner lock fail and cut my finger one of the times. i have probably two dozen buck knives and i use to be a die hard buck fan but after that i lost some of my respect for there lower end knives. it was a avid select and a bantam. that failed while being used

Not very deep, but I own many knives I don't ever use either because I inherited them or just have not found them useful. Three bucks, 110, 112, and a stockman style are all favorites in my collection. And I have a discount Taiwan fixed blade that sits in my get home bag in the car that I know will serve well if the need arises. Next purchase from Buck for me will be a Crosslock with hoof pick.

This thread needs some pics. Here's my modest collection, but it's missing one Bark River. Everything in the photo (including the table) is U.S. made. :)

I must have had a couple of dozen over the years, 119s, Bucklites, 110s, a little 426 that my granddaughter now carries. Currently, a BassPro 110 in CPM154, another in 420HC autographed by Chuck Buck, an old Bucklite in the tackle box.

Funny this question should come up for me now, as I have just recently decided to sell almost all my other make knives and concentrate solely on Buck and old Schrade folders. So, once I am finished with the purge, I will be almost all Buck. It's because I started carrying my 110 again and it just hit me....this is the perfect knife along with my Swiss Army Knife. I don't need anything else. Need being the operative word.;)

I have a few Buck Knives but most are Spyderco & GEC & Case plus my Custom Folders & Sheath Knives.!! **
But then again 98% of my Buck Knives have had Custom work done to them in one way or another ( mostly Engraving of the
Bolsters & File work on some of them.!** )
So I would say 5% of my Knives were Buck Knives more or less.*

I own other brands, but my EDC is a Buck 110 and 301. I might give the 301 a rest once in a while and carry my 371 for a few days, and I might put my 389 in the pocket with the 301.
I also carry a scout knife, or SAK as an EDC, with the Bucks. If Buck made a 4 blade scout/camp/utility knife I would get and carry it. (as long as it has a punch/awl, it is just so handy sometimes.)

My kitchen knives are Wusthof. I don't even know the brand of my dinner table knives. I have a set of stainless steel and an old set of silver, with a handful of oddballs that just sort-of appeared over time.

I carry a Swiss Army knife at times ( I have several models). My leather working knives are specialized things that Buck doesn't even make, they come from France, Germany and England.

My outdoors knives are all Buck, (with the exception of the SAKs). Ever since I was a kid Buck has been my favorite maker of outdoor knives for fishing, hunting and camping. When I worked for a few years in grocery I always had a Buck knife on my belt. When I was a stage hand in summer stock theater I always had a Buck knife on my belt. When I do outdoors photography (street, landscape and wildlife) I always carry a Buck knife. I never felt the need to try anything else. Buck knives are well made and reasonably priced (with an unbeatable guarantee and good customer service). I also have some lookers, ones that just sit under glass and never get used. These are Buck knives, too.

I never took count, so percentages are irrelevant.

Nothing but Buck. I used to carry a Gerber paraframe As an edc but I broke the tip on 2 of them no fault of the knife. I gave away all of my off brand knives. I think I am at around 90 knives. I maybe would buy other brands, but honestly I spend way too much just collecting Buck.
I also display all my knives and I am running out of room. I always said I would stop buying knives if I couldn't display them.

TAH, a nice photo of your knives. I still think I could live with just a 124 (like yours), a 110 and the kitchen set. And be well supplied. Speaking of the kitchen sets, we have several of them and enjoy using them every day. My wife loves her set too. DM

David,
Does Buck still offer the kitchen set? I almost bought one a number of years ago, but held off because I already had a good set of kitchen knives, but I think I may have held off too long. Can they be machine washed? What steel do yours have?
