I found "INFI" by doing a search for the ultimate steel for a survival knife. And as you see ....I found it!

:D

Asked about a decent small FB over on the old 1911 forum.

A friend directed me to the newly formed Swamp Rat Knife Co and told me this was what I needed.

I think it was $89 or so for my Gen I Howling Rat, an incredable sum for me. At that point, I had still never heard of Busse, but it didn't matter, I was already on the slope, just didn't know it yet.

I had been hanging around Bf for awhile but concentrating on customs . Then a few Aussies showed me some pics of a FBM . After that well let me just say Busses are really starting to gain popularity down under really quickly as we all are promoting them fiercely !

Whens Blade coming to Oz ?
Or better yet when is Jerry Gonna Bring It DownUnder

I was on ebay looking for knives and saw a camp tramp for $120 and I couldn't believe someone would pay that much for a knife......so I put it on the back burner.....then a few months later, I went looking for the knife, found the Swamp Rat home page, gave "Busse" a call about ordering because I saw the Battle Rat and wanted it MORE than a Camp Tramp...but the Rat Trap was the only one available......so back to ebay....then on May 31st 2006 I won my first Wauseon Blade a Tan and Black Battle Rat from Paddling Man (Butt Hugger)! a week or so later I got it and have been hooked since. I have had probably close to 100 blades in and out of my hands trying to find the perfect few for me and made a few friends along the way.....gone out of state to several shows to meet the fine folks behind the scenes and look forward to finally meeting Jerry who is one of the best friends the military has had.

Here is what I have right now. But as always...I have a few coming in and a few going out.

I was researching on the internet what is out there for heavy-duty, long-lasting survival knives and ran across a picture (can't remember where precisely - I've seen so many since - I think it was a review of a Busse) and BAM!! I thought, that product looks worthy of an investigation. And it was all over from there.

I think the simple, rugged (and beautiful) appearance speaks for itself. Then the testimonials and actual technological aspects of INFI secure the attraction.

I was one who voted, "I saw Busse family knives for sale in the exchange and came here to find out more. "

I must have noticed it during one of those "peaks" in the selling cycle, as I wondered to myself why so many were selling their Busse Knives. I concluded there must be something wrong with them for so many to be selling them off. :D Months later I noticed this forum and have been reading. I ordered my first this past weekend...a new piglet is born.

I saw alot of Busse knives in the exchange and really liked the design but didn't want to spend that much on a knife. Lurked on this forum for a bit before buying a Skeleton Key and now I can't seem to leave.

after alot of reading online, looking for a good outdoor knife, i found swamprat and Busse.

If I remember correctly while looking for a replacement for my EDC. (folder) I came upon pictures of the OJ game warden. I liked it so much that I did more research and became hooked. Now own a Black Tiger GW, Scrap Yard SS4, and should have an OJ GW and BATAC coming soon. Also Debating on a large chopper and a Hell razor or SJTAC.
Its weird I had never really heard of Busse before because I used to read Blade and KI all the time but don't remember hearing about them, Not saying they were not there but it did not register. Of course I used to think $50 was a lot to pay for a knife so maybe thats why.

Discussion on the General forum here at BF for me. My first was a Basic 9 I got from 1SKS and I've never looked back

:D:D

Saw them in the for sale section...

I thought people were nuts for spending that much on a knife, but wondered why they got snatched up so quickly. I found a way to justify some rats, and fell in love after using them. My reall downfall came at Blade last year when Jerry took 20 minutes to talk to me and the mrs about his blades (not to mention the rest of the crew who were also VERY kind and helpful in my financial demise.)

I was hooked.

Similar to Clone7. I google searched tough knives and ended up finding the Busse site. I also found Swamp Rat at the same time but I didn't know they were a related company. I first thought ill of Swamp Rat as a result because of all their obvious knock offs LOL. Once I found out they were related I bought plenty of both brands.

I had heard of the Battle Mistress WAY back from a Navy buddy of mine who had a similar interest in primitive skills. At the time I thought the BM was a little gratuitous and would never need one. I had forgotten about Busse for the 8 years or so in between. Whoa... how things have changed

My first Busse (and what was supposed to be the "last" knife I ever "needed" to purchase) was a Fat SFNO (black, tiger hide)

I was looking for a knife review of a Gerber/Fiskars hatchet, and found Cliff Stamp's site. After seeing reviews with a bunch of broken knife's, I found a page that mentioned how tough the Swamp Rat knives were. I looked up the SRKW website, and was completely confused on how to order knives from them. The main site pointed to by Google had no useful information, however, it did mention that SRKW's had been formed from Busse Combat. I went back to Cliff's site, and found the review on the SHBM, and was extremely impressed. However, I didn't take the plung until I ran across the Busse forum on BF. All the pretty pictures pushed me over the INFI edge.

Where's the category for "Jerry came to me in a dream and said BUY, BUY, BUY" ???

I was already a BF member, but did not know about Busse. Looking for neck knives I found a deal for an Assault Shaker on Ebay. Didn't know a lot about Busse, so I got to looking around the 'net. First two GOOD sites I came across were badmojo.tv and http://www.zknives.com/knives/. I don't know if the owner of that second one participates in this forum or not. If so, I have you to blame in part for my deficit, and to thank for my INFIcrack addition.

I haven't seen Gator (zknives.com) around, but I am sure he is around a bit.

I first became aware of Busse Knives 10-15 years ago from the Shomer-Tec catalog (amazing you used to be able to order Busses in a catalog). I was poorer then and they were a little pricey, so I didn't order one right away, even though I really liked the look. Finally, I tried to order one and they were never in stock.

I gave up for awhile, but always kept them in the back of my mind. Then I got into some other brands for awhile (Emerson, Strider), but didn't like S30v for a larger fixed blade. This year when I decided I needed a better wilderness fixed blade I went looking for Busse, and their site led me here. Since Feb. I've picked up one Swamp Rat, two new Busses, and an SFNO off the exchange.

Of course, I'm kicking myself for not getting a SHSH from Shomer-Tec like I had intended way back when.

I read Cliff Stamps review and started hanging around the SRKW forum and waited several months for a Howling Rat. While I was waiting I broke down and paid top dollar for a camp tramp and a battle rat (still do not regret it for a second). Then I thought if I was going to pay top dollar for a Rat I might as well try to get a Busse at retail. I ordered a SJTac and was really hooked then!:D
