I didn't even know a place like this existed until one of my favorite internet dealers went out of business and left a link to BF on their site. It was a bad day for me because really liked the dealer and his site, but something much better happened when I discovered this forum.

Hi!

Don't know but i do know that i've gained SO much being here, and "met" some truly great people.

I found Bladeforums when I was visiting Chris Reeve's web page and found the link to BladeForums.

And that's not Kentucky Fried Chicken.

From all the knife forums like rec and BM that were around 4 yrs ago. FT&TC started up (which became KF later) Mike and Spark had a disagreement with Earl and they started this forum and have been here since day one.

Reading Dick Marcinko's books, got curious about the cutlery he mentioned. I had heard of Emerson, but never saw a CQC6. I had never heard of Mad Dog. So I went searching/surfing to find pictures, and somehow wound up at Earl Stewart's site and connected forums (knifeforums.com and the now defunct gunforums.com). Probably a cross-post there awakened me to another similiar site and I came over to BFC.

I can place the blame on an outlaw named Tom Carey. It was HIM who started me on this road of debauchery!

I came accross bladeforums when searching Google for a knifemakers web site, lurked around for a couple of days, liked what I saw and signed up. Ever since I have been getting more and more hooked on this place.

Bladeforums has been a wealth of information, has given me the chance to converse with the most knowledgeable people in the knife industry and has given me quite a few laughs. You just can't beat that.

I was having a custom blade made by Rob Simonich, and he mentioned it to me. Back then, there were about 1400 members, and that seemed like a lot! Now, 10,000+ KnifeKNuts in one place. SCARY

I found Bladeforums through a search for knife sites right after getting my computer. It was a relief to find out how many knife knuts there were in the world and that I was not alone in my "hobby".

I was doing web searches for sharpening suggestions and wandered in. That one mistake has probably cost me hundreds of hours that could have been spent writing Verilog code or Unix scripts.
