How did you find your Becker? Or, how did you become completely obssesed?

I stuck my War Dog in my GHB, and thought the RMD would be good for my wifes. Which meant I STILL needed a camp/utility/hard use knife of a reasonable size. Wanted a drop point, though clip is okay. I also wanted it to cost a bit less than the bussekin, so I wouldn't be afraid to put it to work. I thought I wanted an ESEE 4, but I held it and the handle was just too small. So I grabbed a 6, and the grip was too slab-sided and uncomfortable for me. So I was checking other options, when I saw these Ka-Bar guys were getting ready to release something called Becker Tweeners. They were very highly anticipated. Then people started getting the FPR's and talking about how awesome they are. So, when I got the chance to pick up a used, fisked, cliched FPR 16 at a very good price, I jumped. I was amazed at the awesomeness right out of the box, but thought it could use a tiny bit more grip. Made it good, but saw how Becker's are made for modding, so I decided to make it great.

A year later, I got to hold a BK7... Now, it's all over for me.

(yes, bighoss, I know I still need a 9)

I was looking for a $100 folder, had my eye on the Manix 2 XL then this happened;

Then this happened;

Then I found out about Micarta, Kydex etc.

Finally this happened;

The Throne Room got me good, long live the King!

I carried a traditional KaBar on a tour of Vietnam that I'd bought and modified (blued, custom keather sheath) before leaving the States, so I've been doing this a while!
A few years ago I was into Duracoating Glocks and an occasional Ontario when a friend - a tactical instructor - asked me to do a camo job on his "work knife", a piece that he kept lashed to the rollbar of his UTV. He said he'd used it to cut rappelling rope, hose, and even used it to dig holes in an emergency. What he had was an old Camillus BK9 in 1/4 inch. I did the camo job on both the knife as well as the Kydex sheath. After fondling his -9 I had to have one for myself, but was disappointed that when the new one came in it was so much thinner!
Doing more research on it brought me here, and the rest is history.

Y'all r killing me bigghoss lol can't wait to save up I guess with the new addition of the 11 today and having the 2, 11-2=9 lol hurry up payday lol

The 2 and 9 were my first beckers, bought them both at the same time. You can do cool stuff like that when you don't have a family sucking the life-blood...er I mean to love and support. Also frees up time for drinking. So much drinking...

lol i miss those days at times like these but am glad for what I have now.. it just takes me a little longer to get new bling...lol

Started out on blade forums with R.A.T (now ESEE) and saw some of the references to Becker and tried a BK-2. The knives are rugged, well made, can be easily customized and they won't break the bank. Plus the Becker forum is a great place to visit.

Psyop showed me a BK 11 one day so I got one. And then a couple of Beckers were on my Christmas list and then I got a few more and so on and so forth - culminating in a beautiful Ka-Bar BK77 which arrived yesterday. Now am I done? No probably not. :D

I was talking with a co-worker about survival knives and he had mentioned Kabar deserved a look. I googled Kabar and Tomars came up. It wasn't long till we were both drooling over the BK2. 5-7 day later I had one in my hands. We were hacking up pallets and tree branches, looking for mods. Stumbled upon a video of Equipped to endure and Ethan talking and I knew I had to be in this forum. Found out later that my co worker has family near the Beckers and he grew up on the joy of cooking.

I first saw the BK2 on equipt to endure and decided to get one. now I have six different BKs and am planning the next one.

IIRC I was surfing Amazon for K-Bars, I think I wanted a Tanto K-Bar or a Warthog, can't recall now cuz it was a year and a half ago, but I came across the BK2. I read the reviews and watched some YouTube vids on it and was thoroughly impressed by what I saw. And the $56 SHIPPED price was just incredible!

When it arrived I was very impressed with it and even with the kydex sheath (I love that secure SNAP of it's retention capability). It's been a love affair ever since, an outstanding heavy-duty knife for my life-style living out in the country where I am. At times it's been my EDC, but lately the BK14 is my EDC, however the BK2 goes with me nearly everywhere - in my truck or in the saddle bag of my Harley. It's always around and has performed like the work-horse Ethan designed it to be.

I don't really collect knives, so don't plan on accumulating numerous Beckers, but a 16 is on my Wish List and will complement my 2 and 14, making a perfect Trio for my needs.

I had come back to bladeforum after being absent for quite a while, I found THIS thread and was impressed.. shortly after I found a deal on a 9 and promptly went out and broke it. :( After experiencing this great group of people and the world class support I got from Ka Bar and Mr. Tooj, I was completely blown away.. You can't find a nicer, more interesting group of people anywhere...

In 2006 my Brother Tom joined the Marines, I wanted to give him a really good graduation gift. One day at work I got talking to a customer of mine about gear, as he was a recently returned National Guardsman at that time I asked his opinion of what knife I should get my bro. He told me about this Tac Tool made by Becker. He went on and on about ripping doors off hinges and tearing crates apart & popping open 55 gallon drums with his. I'd heard of Becker before that but didn't own any.
So, a few of us family members bought him one and he beat the piss out of it for a few years.

By the time he got off active duty I had several Beckers of my own and I asked him If I could have that Tac Tool. He gave it to me with no strings attached but I gave him a BK2 Ethan had sent me.

The funny thing is he had really abused that Tac tool. there wasn't a sharp spot anywhere on it. I couldn't even cut with the serrations. He said he mostly opened beer with it and that he carried a bunch in training at Norfolk but I got the impression he didn't carry it overseas much.

I learned of BK&T while searching for a military deployment knife. Although I had heard about it in survival circles and such I hadn't looked it up.
My first Becker (BK11) I received from my best friend for my 18th birthday on April 25th of this year. I like it so far and it seems sturdy and well built for a strong future in camping and survival.

After a traumatic blow to the head, I woke up in a twenty-foot pit in some freak-show's basement. Once a day, a voice from above would lower skin cream down to the bottom with a raspy "It puts the lotion on its skin." After three weeks of that fresh hell, a dramatic CIA rescue enabled me to return to the civilized world. First thing I did was buy a BK-2. No joke. On the plus side, my skin has never been so supple.

Were there any junk-tucking involved in this fiasco?
