How did you use your EDC today?

So far.., opened (1) box, and dropped the knife on my foot...(no injury)...just clumsy...

Just one EDC? Maybe that why my pockets look pregnant? Okay opened some boxes, cut some tape, and cut some of that heavy duty plastic strapping which is about 1/8 to 3/16 thick. Man that is tough stuff. My EDC here lately have been my Simonich crowfoot(red carbon fiber of course)my SAK camper and my rainbow leek. Its wonderful not having a knife policy at work!

used the blade of my EDC Victorinox Scientist to trim numerous loose rope ends on a fraying rope mat/rug.

Then the screwdriver to scrape paint spots off a water fountain that I was cleaning.

Today I carry my new Kershaw Grant County. I pulled it out two or three times, rolled it in my hands, opened and closed it once or twice one-handed with the nail nick, balanced it on my finger a few times, examined the edge a few more, and congratulated myself on what I consider a good buy. Walking to lunch, I even played with it in my pocket - in public. And my wife wants to know why I carry a pocket knife, let alone own so many.

I used my Al Alexander kneck knife to peal a kiwi fruit at lunch. Now where was my Spydie Kiwi when I needed it :p

Today I used my Microtech Amphibian to- Cut some pieces of .005" shim stock, trim the edge of some sheet rock, cut some 1/8" plastic "rub rails", and open the mail. I gave it it's daily soapy water bath just before I logged on.:)

Today, I un-holstered my LCC D/A just in case, when I walked thru a somewhat bad street in my neighbourhood. I held it in my hand, thumb on the action, just in case. Nothing happened, so, when I got on the bus, I slid it right back in my holster. I did use my amphibian to cut out a post in our Metro that stated "the most agressive music on the block"... I just had to see what all the fuzz was about!

Almost the same as every day.... Alert when in thug neighbourhoods, otherwise, I just keep it there, in the SOB, just waiting to get used. Maybe someday, it will come to REAL use.. but for now, it´s resting perfectly back there!

Take care

Niclas

My primary EDC for defense was drawn, opened, closed and put back on the pocket at least 30 times today. Muscle memory continues to build on the new Tarani Karambit folder I've made my EDC for defensive purposes.
Reason for this?--familiarity/muscle memory.

My SAK hiker cut open a few boxes at work, pulled a hangnail with the tweezers.

My second LaGriffe necker in my pocket without chain used for cutting a piece of cat5 wire in the LAN room.

Used it to cut a loose string on my backpack.

Later my Spyderco Native was fondled by my buddy Brian as we got insanly lost on the way to Woodbridge Mall. Other than that it stayed clipped to the pocket...:grumpy: I need to get a job where I use my knives more...

Took on a swarm of boxes and a spool of piedmont cord. Winner: Boa.

At work I used the scissors on my Victorinox Compact to trim the thick plastic threads that weave in those automobile wooden-bead seat covers. The thread kept poking me in my a**. At home, I used my Spyderco Military to cut a slit in the pouch of my microwave dinner.

to open a sticker to put in the window of my Baja Bug. Trapper VS Cellophane, no contest. I might use it later to open a Powerbar.

Didn't cut a thing all day. When I got home I soaked my PE Calypso Jr. (:D ) in Simple Green with a little hot water, dried it with a blow drier, then worked a BB sized gob of Big Bend's Nut Sauce into it while it was still warm. Wiped out the excess with a bit of an old cotton rag, then hit it a few licks on the old belt I use for a strop and put it back in my pocket. Good for another couple of weeks!

Well, let's see... yesterday I used my Dozier slim outdoorsman to cut up a bunch of green beans. Today I used my Queen D2 cattle king stockman to open up the package for my newest sharp-pointie... the awesome CUDA Maxx 5.5! I have been playing with it ever since, and I have even cut myself with it while closing it. Simply one of the most amazing knives I have ever held. (man, do we need a swooning/in-love smilie right now)
Off to continue flicking,

My Endura helped me harvest about 20 lbs. of wild asparagus.

It passed the Asparagus Whack tesy fine. My wife used my Yari for the same thing and it did fine also.

There I was, stuck in the local McDonalds when a short cup/long straw situation popped up! What was my 3 year old going to do?!?!?!? Too long of a straw and lemonade would flow everywhere! Just when all seemed bleak, I remembered my trusty Sebenza:D I quickly lopped off 1.5 inches of straw and inserted the sraw into the cup:) A happier 3 year old/Daddy combo could not be found :p We lived happily everafter....Till our next daring adventure:cool:
