How did you use your EDC today?

Last night, I used my SOG Blink to open a heavily shrink-wrapped box of Raisinets at the movie theater. Yay, EDC.:)

My friends truck was stuck in the mud I got all sticky, so I used my CRKT KFF to clean my boots off.

Today,

Opened a few cardboard boxes and sliced up a pineapple with the large sebbie.

Cleaned a Tacunare ( Peacock Bass) with my Crowfoot

I had a cookout with my family and I had the only knife there - Sere 2K. We all used it for different things: cut corn cobs in half, strip the corn off one cob for my son, cut open all the meat packages, opened 3 cans of chili, cut a stick off a tree to stir the coals with, cut up apples for a fruit salad, and cut up my steak.

as Homer would say: "mmmmmm, Bar-B-Q!"

Today I carry my new Kershaw Grant County. I pulled it out two or three times, rolled it in my hands, opened and closed it once or twice one-handed with the nail nick, balanced it on my finger a few times, examined the edge a few more, and congratulated myself on what I consider a good buy. Walking to lunch, I even played with it in my pocket - in public. And my wife wants to know why I carry a pocket knife, let alone own so many.

Evolution may have taken my claws, but I plan on getting them back.

I ninja'd the heck out of a bag of Reeses Pieces at the movies today.

Emerson CQC7.
Cut open boxes at work, trimmed packing tape on a box going out. Cleaned my nails, scraped gunk off the floor, cut some Cat-5 cable with the serrated edge.
New in the rotation... David Mosier Instigator 2. Trimmed some labels for backup tapes in the data center, opened some boxes.

I've heard the term, but what exactly is a slip joint? Is it those Case Trapper type knives?

it is, as you mentioned, like those case trapper knives. its any knife without a lock which still have springs to keep tension on the blade to keep it open.

Used a Spydie Native, I'm passing around on Knifeforums, to cut up some industrial carpet for a mat in front of my changing locker. Opened the mail. slashed some cardboard. Cut up boxes my new tbird headlights came in. Paracord and poly rope. Just played: opening, closing, opening...gettin the feel.

today I used the clip point blade on my leatherman wave to stab a hole into a ferocious bottle of mineral water so that the air counld get in and the water get out of the dispencer in the door of the fridge...

Last night used my SOG Blink at a wedding to remove a torn section of one of the flower girls' dresses (it was too long, and once ripped it was snagging on her shoe causing the poor girl to trip repeatedly).

Today I used my recently aquired Spyderco Military to slice a few jalepenos at a birthday party. Really kicked my beans up a notch... BAM!

Really kicked your beans up a notch? I don't understand that phrase.

Ever watch any cooking shows? There's a guy named Emeril Lagasse who has a pretty famous show. When he adds something spicy to a recipe he says "let's kick it up a notch" then when he actually throws the stuff in the pot, he says "BAM!" He's really pretty funny to watch and the food he comes up with looks great. Here's his website if you want to check it out:

So when I said the jalepenos really kicked my beans up a notch, I meant that they made 'em HOT! Hey, it was funny to me anyway! Somebody help me out here - anybody else ever catch that guy's show?

Used my leatherman super tool knife to cut apple and trim some hardened skin off the edge of my fingernail.

i think less than 3" (this one is 2.5 from tip to ricasso) is too short to quarter an apple nicely ... what do you think?

SERE 2k handled nail clipper functions quite nicely. I might get lucky and open some mail with it later on today.

Used my BM 800 S AFCK to open a vacuumsealed package of serano ham.
Last week I used the awl on my vic.sak spartan to drill drain holes in my gf plastic flowerpots.
My slipjoint italian patada knife sees most action in the evening when I go commando on a wicked french salami.

I got it even though I havent seen the show (wrong country unfortuately...)

I love adding some chillie pepper to food to add a bit of bite in there, makes it so much more interesting.

Used the Leek to open up my mail: two university acceptance letters, one package for militec and grease, and a box with a used cell phone (8860) my uncle sent me.

I must say, sharp as it is, the Leek does not make a good letter opener. The edge tends to favor a side rather than make straight cuts.
