This one is definitely drool inducing. I was hoping to have my refund/ spend money incentive from the government (hopefully we will get it soon). Trying to convince my wife that I should order one (after all, I just finished law school, don't I deserve an award......she wanted to buy me a PS3, hell, I could get two edc Busse's for the same price).

Trust me. I've had the ribbing from you guys. I would rather taking ribbing from friends than risk the wrath of the One Who Must Not Be Named. That said, she'll be staying in Indy this trip.

I'm sort of curious as to why the Black G10 is listed as about 20% more expensive than the Black Micarta??? Does it have to do with the number of them that are made or does G10 cost more???

From what I've learned, the G10 does cost more. Remember ... it's not just raw material ... these handles have been carefully crafted into interesting and functional shapes. I'd guess (just a guess) that the micarta is also a bit easier to shape.

We could always ask Garth or Jerry for more info...

Actually, I'd say it's slightly better than George's.

And there's a better chance of long-term success, too. Depending on what you call success in this case.

That makes sense. I hadn't thought of the labor piece on the scales. I thought micarta was already hard to shape!

If G10 is harder to shape I'm glad I've never tustled with it.

You're welcome. I used to shape micarta in my youth ... to create pieces of lab gear. It wasn't hard to work, but you had to do the work in a lab hood. You do NOT want to inhale micarta dust. Heck, I wouldn't even want to inhale G10 dust.

Come to think of it, G10 dust might be even worse. It ought to have micro-fibers and those don't seem to be good for the lungs.
