How do I keep rabbits out of my yard?

Blackhills / 1Tracker - I've heard that from many different people, the dog still smells food in there, therefore, eats it as a food source. I've got some cayenne I can try out to see how it works.

Ideally I'd like to take her out on a leash and correct her as it's happening, but that's darn near impossible to do right now.

BF - I know exactly what your talking about. The only problem there is that the rabbits are going to flock to my yard for a meal on carrots :)

Wow, I never had a dog eat rabbit poop. Even my psycho mutt that has eaten his own when he was a puppy.

Hmm, might I suggest a bow and field points?

I don't know, I like rabbits in the yard, keep a ready food supply and slipper-making material. I never thought of rabbit heads on pike, though. Might be cool to put them on the fence posts to freak out the neighbors. Heck, I even plant some rabbit- friendly vegetables in various places around the yard. They don't often attack my main garden anymore (of course it might be the smell of rabbit blood on the ground from the 12 ga incident. . .).

I don't know about the hot sauce/pepper thing. My dog loves the stuff. I can make stuff so hot my spoon dissolves and he'll gobble it up full speed. Of course he drinks about 5 gallons of water and makes weird, "whine, whine, bark, bark, AAaaaaaoooooooo!" sounds when he poops later. :D

Rabbit Patrol. :D

Try powdered fox urine (no odor to humans) and scatter it around your yard. Check with your local hardware store to see if they can order it for you. It will repell any animal that foxes prey upon, including raccoons.

Dang, Swampdog stole my idea. Well kind of... I didn't know they make it in powder but I was thinking of fox or skunk pee like deer hunters use. Guys with owls in their avatar must think alike...

Negative 100 on bunny heads on spikes, that's just asking for some goofy neighbor to call the police  We'd all think it's funny, but you could end up with an embarrassing and costly cruelty-to-animals charge. Sorry to be a spoil-sport :o

A big issue here (seen the movie rabbit proof fence - a fence acorss the width of Australia?)- and I do clearing with my HMR in on friends block - not in a development!

Dog outside and owl is good. Rifles of vaious kinds are fun for thinning - but hard to get the last one - and they will come back.

The other is to find out where they live and do the number on their homes.

Over her tractors doing donuts, ripping, petrol, gas and sparkers, dynamite etc.

Somewhat less dramatically and equally effective Of course there is poisened baits down the holes. Also poison gas - a freind with an est thousand rabbits on his place is now down to a 100. ht 100 or so (not signficinant) but he carries a poison pill - drops it down a hole with some water then caves the hole in with a mattock.

Dog, owls, poison of some form, and a maattock whould be my reccomendation

And attack if you can - don't just fight inside your perimeter!

And of course a good knife!
