How do I stop buying knifes

So back in April I was driving through Holbrook, Arizona and stopped in this unbelievable roadside store called Knife City. You would not expect a little shop on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere to have such a great selection of knives but I haven't found it's equal yet. Their collection is dizzying.

Anyway, I stopped out of plain curiosity and ever since then I've had this obsession. I've spent way more money than I ever thought I would on knives. I have knives for just about every task I could ever dream of. And I still find myself wanting to get a new Benchmade or Spyderco or whatever. Is there a support group for this?

Correction: *Knives

1. Dont ever look at knives again and just be glad of what you have.
2. As the 1st reply says spend until you run out of money.
3. Find you a woman if you are not married and that will end the knife buying.
4. Last but not least just keep doing what you are doing and BUY KNIVES!!!!!!!!!!

My vote is for #4 and I dont have to worry about #3!:D:D:D:D

Man, I wish I knew the answer. Everytime I buy one I tell myself no more for at least three months. And then the next one comes up for sale.....

If your looking for a support group to stop buying knives you came to the wrong place, pretty much a 180 of where you want to be

I figure the only way I can stop is if I lost my hands in a freak a freak accident !!! Other than that being broke hasnt stopped me !!!

When I first started I thought there would be a "satisfaction point" to where I would stop once my collection is complete. I came to realize that there is no such a thing.

That's what I thought. For example, when I see two cool knives that are basically in the same class I feel like I can choose one of them and that will satisfy my need for that type of knife. But no. I end up buying them both eventually.

I started making sheaths. A lot cheaper than a new knife and still knife-related. Pretty easy to learn if you have any hand-eye motor skills and can plan things out.

You fool, there is NO way to stop! You must learn to accept the "sickness" and become one with it. You can survive on Ramen Noodles, your family can survive on Ramen Noodles, you can learn to live on 4 hours of sleep a night and then work 20 hour shifts, you don't really need both of your kidneys to live.

So better to embrace it!

Buy two quality folders and two fixed blades, sell the rest and use the ones you bought.

set a rule for yourself, like $50 per month on knives, or like 1 knife/month, don't look at knife sites or go ot stores untill you save enough money...

that works for me.

You can send them to me!!...all i have is a $20 outdoor edge folder for my bushcraft knife. I'm in terrible need of a nice fixed blade...I don't make much money so saving up to buy one is a process for me.

I have almost saved enough and I think i'm goin to get one from dpknives.com or maybe a khukuri from khukuri house.com haven't made my mind up yet.

But..yea...if everytime you bought a knife you gave it away I bet it would stop you from buying another one...lol...unless you are a very generous person. I know its lame..but just sayin I bet it would work!

At times like this you should turn to Jesus and... hmm, wonder if Jesus carried a knife at all... i'd assume they were pretty useful to have back then. Wouldn't have been a folder but something simple like a bushcraft knife with a scandi grind. I should get a knife like Jesus would carry. I'll have to go look and see what's available... damn... damn..

sorry -- you're on your own bud.

You can't stop my friend, you now have "The Hunger", it is a disease that has claimed many others (including me).
