How do they manage to do this over and over?

The postal service just keeps sending my priority packages to the wrong place. Last time it was to Puerto Rica and this time who knows? You would think they'd be able to send these packages to where they are addressed after getting it so close, but no they have lost stuff and "missent" packages enough to have me losing faith. Strange thing is, it's always packages, letters always seem to make it with no problem. You would think a bigger package and priority, insured mail would be more reliable even than small letters. (after all you are paying 15 times or so, more)

Class: Priority Mail®
Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™/Insured > $200
Status: Missent

Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Yup, I just lost one that was supposed to go to Singapore a month and half ago. Guy never received it. Now I am stuck!! I lost a knife and money(paypal) and there is nothing I can do.!!! I am not sure how they say if you want insurance you have to pay extra, isnt their JOB to carefully send your package??!! I drop it off and after that it is out of my hands, so why is it that it is my fault if they lose it?? It does not matter Fed Ex and UPS are the same, just alllot more expensive. Sorry for the rant but it is annoying.!!

I've never had a problem with USPS, and it's my preferred shipping method.

I will not use Fed-Ex after they sent a $2000 computer to the wrong side of the country and refused to do anything about it.

My feelings towards UPS are fairly neutral.

But I trust the postal service to get my knives and everything else to me safely. So far, they have.

Years ago, and another hobby, I lost a $1000.00 purchase through the usps. Vanished without a trace. Tracking said it was delivered. Went to the post office delivery center, they found the carbon copy, but it didn't look right. Could not read it, kinda looked like it had been sent to the wrong address.
Went to all my neighbors, none of them had it. Emailed the sender, they swore they sent it to the right address..needless to say we had a few cross words...To this day, I am not sure who was not being honest with me.
Anyway, that sucks and I feel your pain, but it seems to be bad with just about any carrier. Used to be around here, Fed-Ex was the way to go, exspensive, but reliable. Nowadays, they won't even knock on your door. They will leave a crumpled mess on your door step and make a bee-line for their truck. UPS is ok, but last time I used them it was twice as much as usps, and took twice as long.
