The EDC II thread got me to wondering... When you're carrying multiple knives, where/how do you do it?

I've generally got a folder pocket-clipped to the inside of one pocket. Even just that one gets in the way of my wallet, when I try to take my wallet out of my pocket.

(I keep my phone on the other side, because I don't want it to be scratched by the knife.)

I can't even picture having the pocket/body real estate to carry two, let alone the three and four (and a flashlight) that some of you carry.

So, how do you carry your knives, so that they all fit?

Front right pocket is my main blade, back right is a SAK folder, and my fixed blade is now usually in my cargo pocket, or used as a necker.

Just drop them in different pockets.

Since I don't carry modern folders with pocket clips, its no problem. In my right pocket is my Case peanut with the Fenix EO1 and a rolled up bandana. In the left front pocket is my keys that has a Victorinox classic on the ring, and my Bic lighter and pipe tool. Most of the time I'm wearing jeans, so any knives go into either the front right or left pockets. Any more knives and I just drop on in. I don't mind having multiple items in a pocket, even if two of them are pocket knives. I'm not aware of any law that says I can't carry more than one knife to a pocket. Sometimes the right pocket has the Case plus a SAK in it.

This is a good example of my EDC. The main blade goes clipped on the front right pocket. Secondary blade gets dropped inside front right with my keys. Front left is my phone, back right is my wallet unless I am wearing cargos then wallet goes in right cargo pocket. Flashlight get clipped to a belt loop front right. My main blade will do anything I need but I always carry a secondary in case someone asks to borrow a knife, I'm not going to hand someone a $300+/- knife.

BM Mini Grip clipped to right pocket, Vic Spirit multitool in belt pouch.

Or, multitool and small fixed blade in a two-slot pocket sheath in back pocket.

That is when I am on my own time. At work (a school) I carry a small, traditional slipjoint in my dress pants pocket and have a multitool in my bag.

Main blade in left front pocket and a smaller blade as a necker. Flashlight dropped in a pocket and firearm either on belt or right pocket.

I normally carry three knives: a Victorinox Rambler on my keys in my right front pocket, a locking one-hander clipped to my right front pocket (frequently rotated to suit my mood/circumstance) and a slipjoint or small clipless folder in my left front pocket (90% of the time it's my Vic Tinker.) Typically, it's whatever I have in my LFP that does most of the work.

Let me nap out all the crap that I carry lol.

Right front pocket - iPhone....nothing else ever goes in the pocket with my phone.
Left front pocket - keys, change maby a note.
Right keg pocket - flashlight, small knife(very very rarely carry a second folder)
Right rear - carhartt wallet, ZT 560 never had a problem with them in the same pocket.
Left rear - work ID, pen
Neck - Morris mini necker file knife.

It took awhile to get everything to coexist together but for me this works great.

Right pocket - folder
scout carry on the back of my belt for left hand access - fixed blade EDC
small sak on my keys.

I sometimes put a leatherman on my belt as well if I'm likely to need the tools.

Google 5.11 Taclite Pro pants. You get a total of 8 pockets, which is plenty of real estate for your extra toys.

I use the search function

I always love this answer.

I guess once something is discussed, it's never worth bringing it up again.

Take, for example, the EDC thread that spawned my question. I guess since we've talked about EDC -- twice now, apparently -- it can never be brought up again.

Hadn't really thought of that, but that's an excellent point. In my case, the most expensive I have is about an $80 knife... But still. Good idea to have a spare that you can hand to somebody when they need to cut something.

If Tim had used the search function, he would know that this response has been made many times before. :)

As for secondary knives, I have learned not to hand anyone a knife if I can help it. I just say "let me do that for you" or whatever. But I do carry two myself, usually a Spyderco or similar that is clipped on my pocket, and a Victorinox Classic on my EDC ring. The Classic can be whipped out in public and no one cares.

I have an auto of some sort clipped inside my right front pocket, latley it's been a Lone Wolf Lobo. Then I have a Buck 112 in a sheath on my belt. Last I have a Case 45 pattern scout on my key chain. To take it a step further my truck is equiped with a sword kane and a cheap Bowie behind the seat. I live in Florida where it's a right to stand your ground state or I think I have issues.

spring loaded deployment in both right and left sleves. one on each ankle, one strapped to my inner thigh. clipped to my right front pocket, clipped to my left front pocket, deep carry in front right pocket deep carry left back pocket. horizontal on the belt at the small of my back cross draw on my belt on the left side. in a shoulder rig in both right and left armpits. duct taped to my back under the trapezious muscle for a total of 14 knives at a time.

The Classic can be whipped out in public and no one cares.

Also an excellent point. I've gotten the occasional fast-motion second look when I pull out my one-handed folder with its 3"+ blade. People do tend to notice, and not always in a good way. A small Vic would be the perfect thing.

I took a pencil with me to the grocery to check things off the PGL (Powernoodle Grocery List). The lead broke so I sharpened it up right there with the Vic Classic. Imagine doing that with an XL Voyager or much of the other stuff we tend to carry. So while sometimes we carry two or more knives just because its fun, there is some utility in the practice as well.

Main knife in right front pocket, smaller folder (i.e. Kershaw Chive) in small pocket inside of the right pocket. I believe they call that a "match" pocket?

*edit* just looked it up. It's called a fob pocket.
