How do you carry your belt knife when backpacking?

When carry a full-sized pack with hip-belt, I've actually been able to carry my Bark River (high-ride/pancake sheath) Bravo-1. It wasn't uncomfortable, but you can't access it quickly.

I had a few removeable danglers made my JRE and that's really the easiest and most effective method. The Baldric (simple 550 cord or slim leather/nylon strap) work well too.

Neck, pocket, or on a drop loop for me...

never on my pack. I like to keep my blade and PSK on my person.

I have a sheath from JRE with the belt loop secured by a Pull-the-Dot snap. Very secure, but very easy to switch the knife from pack belt to pants belt.

Backpacking I never seem to need a fixed blade but can't leave home without one so I just toss it in an outside pocket on my pack.

If I knew I would be using it a lot I would use a dangler for a larger blade or a horizontal carry for a smaller blade.

I do same as Ruperist just a bit of paracord and antler.
