How do you carry your flashlight?

I really like the Fenix E01 for EDC. Anything else is just too big. Then again, I use a credit card wallet as my wallet. I'm stuck with pocket-carry since I don't normally wear a belt. The E01 attaches to my keychain and I don't even know it's there. It's only 10 lumens or something like that, but I don't feel like I need more than that 99% of the time. For the times I know I will, I carry something bigger - nothing fancy, usually a Maglite 2-aa LED or 3-D LED. Those'll take care of anything I need short of lighting up a sasquatch at 300 yards.

I've dabbled in other lites but once I spend more than about 20 bucks I can't use 'em for fear of losing them or messing up their purdy finish.

If you like the e01 then you should definitely check out the ld01. It is both smaller and much brighter than the e01. I do agree to some extent though, the small AAA lights are just so much easier to carry. A couple of good rechargeable AAA cells for my ld01 might just be the answer but im not ready to give up on the eagletac d25c just yet though, it's just a much brighter and feature filled light than any of the AAA lights.

I do a lot of looking in dark areas/night work so I carry 3 flashlights with me.
1. macs custom xml edc ti clipped to LF pocket. I don't like having two clips also, but its just so darn handy.
2. peak logan flood light, in my inside jacket pocket, my preferred carry method.
3. DQG ti AAA on my key chain, hardly every use it.

I only carry a flashlight when I go out at night, so I just drop a 4Sevens Quark 2xAA in my coat pocket. If I need to go smaller, I take an older Fenix L1Tv2 (1xAA). Keep a four pack of AA lithiums in the ash tray of my car.

My question is how do you keep the lights from going off if you have them ready to deploy? I have a surefire not sure on the model, an older one. it has the rear push button, which can be turned to "on" or turned enough so the button will not function by accident.

If the light is in my pocket it must be set to "off" or it will light up by accident, but in this condition its really not a good emergency light, I would need to pull it from my pocket, and turn the rear to allow it to be turned on...taking two hands.

If I had a hand gun I would not be able to deploy both at the same time.

My idea of a "tactical light" is one I could deploy without needing to fiddle with it in a potentially "bad" moment. Do the newer lights have better rear switches which don't go off when wearing them?

I find it best to carry a MinimagLite (2 AAA cells) in my left breast shirt pocket. It is light to carry, easily accessible and suits my everyday needs. I sometimes use a nylon belt pouch for a MinimagLite (2 AA cells) but find it heavier and more awkward. I am a schoolteacher in a suburban environment, not a police officer or first responder. No need for a "tactical" light.

I can't speak for the surefire clicky switches but the clicky on my eagletac is recessed (so it can tail stand) which seems to guard against accidental accusation of the switch. At least I haven't had a problem with it yet.

I just toss my minix 123 in my front right pocket. It's just a tad chunky though.

See that is exactly my predicament. I have always just carried my light in the bottom of my pocket, but these cr123 lights are just a bit too chunky.

ITP A1 EOS with just the clip on backwards. I just drop it in a front pocket. If I need it, it neatly clips to the brim of a ball cap which I almost always wear.

My Fenix LD10 usually rests in the front pocket of my Maxpedition Jumbo EDC pack next to some pens and a Bic lighter -> ready for duty.

The Fenix LD20 is a little too bulky for EDC carrying, so it sits on my keyboard next to the front door of my home...

i myself carry an EDC case from Maxpedition. Its perfect, holds my spare blade, flashlight, multitool and some!!

I like the peewee AAA and AA lights for normal usage, but I prefer to carry something with some serious throw and the option of blasting someone with a strobe. The Quark and Fenix 2x123 and 18650 lights dump some serious strobe a close range. I'm rockin' a Fenix LD20 in my cargo pocket today.

My LD01 just lays in the bottom of my pocket with a couple of ink pens, a Leatherman Juice and whatever else I put in there.

I carry a Fenix PD32 in my briefcase. If I am going somewhere that I will need it I just take it out of the sheath and put it in my pocket with the above stuff. I normally don't even notice when I'm carrying it that way.
