How do you carry your knife

I just put the knife in the right front pocket. Never had an issue with losing knives. Have issues with losing other items though, pens just jump off me all the time.

My Buck 303 came with a Leather slip pouch, so It rides in that...but the rest just slide in the watch pocket, etc

I carry my Ken Erickson trapper in pocket sheath that I made. It's basically like the picture below, but it has a space for a mini light, too. I've gotten to where I like this method for longer knives, since it keeps them upright and easily accessible in my pocket.

I made the sheath in this picture for a friend who had both of his hands broken when three people tried to rob him. He's a cowboy and a cattle buyer, and he's done a lot of favors for me over the the years, so I wanted to give him something that might make his daily life a little easier. The knife in it is a GEC scout with smooth bone handles.

My Case 6231 1/2 folder rides nicely in a vertical belt sheath;

In my case, I like to just drop my knife in the right front pocket of my pants. However, I have to carry it that way even if I didn't like it because I have a disclaimer agreement signed with Mr. T. Bose; and I'm somewhat of a law abiding citizen.

I really like that sheath, JAlexander. Nicely done.

Now the man-purse/satchel thing I can't get into. If I was on a horse, maybe, but I'd get beat up where I live.

Nothing between me and my knives but pocket fabric. My nicer ones ride in the jeans change pocket by their lonesome. Everything else goes into the pocket dump with flashlights, SAK, pen, and other assorted stuff that one day I might actually need.

Every knife I carry goes in my left back pocket, no sheath, pouch etc. Even my one and only $300 custom large hunter. Except, I have a little ivory handled canoe from Amherst cutlery that is in a suede slip case I got free with an order from collector knives... had to do something with it so the canoe goes in it and it goes in a top shirt pocket when i carry it.

And of course my trusty peanut goes in a kydex sheath I made it, around my neck, but sometimes it goes into shirt pockets, or even back pocket carry, sheathless.

Most drop straight in RFP, the exceptions are

GEC Pioneer rides in Backpocket, Barlow fits nice in the watch pocket.

I have shown some of this before, but here you go again. This is how I carry all slipjoints, except the big + 41/2 inchers. Using two fingers you can remove knife inside the pocket. But I usually have to pull out pouch to replace knife.

Bought a commerical leather loop pouch and then 'modified' my own. If you are a all leather guy you can braid your own loop and buy some ready made pouches and put some together. I use a leather braid loop some. Mostly, I make my own by using my old scout camp skills and braid 'superbraid' fishing line (40lb test/ three strands) and it makes your loop/line almost invisible. The pouch and knife ride right along the seam in you pants not down in the front bottom of your pocket.... Make loop short enough that knife is supported by loop/line and not bottoming out in your pocket.
You can find commerical leather pouches, and also google How to Braid instructions. I use super glue to seal loop ends then follow with a wrapping of thread that close the loops.

If you just want to buy something check out Ron Ryder or talk to your favorite leather person.

FYI 300Bucks

Leather braid version, superline on belt and in pocket and superline outside off belt

I just drop it in my right hand pocket with a small single AAA flashlight, and shove a bandana down on it.

Hi Perfessr -

I carry my SAK Waiter in my left front pocket, no pouch.

If I am taking out one of my "pretty" knives, I make sure that the knife rides alone in that pocket so that it does not get scratched up.

best regards -

This works great and there is also enough room for a couple of tampons :p

JUST KIDDING, I don't carry tampons :D

Normally, I carry my folders in my jean coin pocket but I recently had fellow forum member, rayban of R G Leather, make this cowboy style belt sheath for my Menefee trapper. The man makes art with leather! Great guy and highly recommended!

I prefer to carry them in the watch pocket of my jeans. That's also why I prefer smaller slip joints.

Those are great pouches. I have one too. Problem is, you have to remove the pouch from your pocket, remove the knife from the pouch, lay the pouch down or pocket it to free up your hand, open the knife and cut the stuff that needs cutting, close the knife, recover the pouch, insert the knife, and pocket the whole shebang.

The entire exhausting process takes, like, forever or something. I realize that the point of back-to-basics slipjoint carry is to slow down and enjoy the whole walkie-talkie experience, but that's too much of good thing when I just wanna cut something and get on with my life. ;)

150 to 200 years a man purse was to hold all his kit and stuff. from hard tack to gun powder. i got several but i don't carry one on a day to day basis

Mine goes in my right front pants pocket. The only other thing that "might" be in the same pocket is a folder clipped to the pocket, but nothing else actually in the pocket. Admittedly, I only have 4 custom slippies, but I do carry/use all of them (On a rotational basis, of course, not all at the same time).

I've tried back pocket carry, but don't like my knives going against my wallet.
