How do you dew?

Call me crazy but my current 'fidget toy' is my lionsteel roundhead. I love closing it one handed so much that as soon as it closes, my hands rush back to open it. I don't know how many traditionalists agree with me, but a nice crisp half stop and close just send happy vibes to my brain
Ahhh man that’s the perfect amount of traditional meets modern day! I imagine it’s a joy to fidget with. On another note I tried filling my “traditional” taste with these custom scales for my GB2. But I feel like I really need to buy a traditional knife with a “spear point” type of style to the blade in order to stay true to my cause. I’m hoping this guy will patina nicely. I’ve been cutting nothing but chicken with it haha.

OP Check out the Spartan Blades Pallas. I cannot help but constantly fidget with it. It rides on ball bearings, it has a flipper, and it has functional thumb studs. To boot it has a button lock that is solid as hell and very fallshutty!!!

I don't know if it's outlandish or has to do with the modern world. In my case, I've carried (and used) knives since I was a kid back in the 1970s, and even back then I would occasionally fidget with my pocketknives while sitting around. I'd open and close each blade a few times, then move the closed knife around in my hand, kind of like a worry stone. Although this was never done in school or around people who might deem it odd...though normally my closed pocketknives were small enough not to have attracted attention in my hand, anyway. On a multi-blade, I always knew automatically by feel which blade or implement was which, without needing to look.

Everybody's different, I guess.

No, no, I get this allright. And, yes, guilty as charged ! I do the worrystone thing and I often take a knife just to look at it and consider it under every angle, handle it in various grips, then maybe sharpen it a bit more, slice paper then clean and oil it. That's plenty of fidgeting there I guess ! The time spent with knives is always relaxing and rewarding. I just don't do the serial flicking / flipping stuff. But to each his own, it would be a boring world if we were all cast in the same mold.

Snap Lock fidget fun is more so trying to master it 1-handed because it is an odd one. That swedish barrel knife is a cool one and should be legal everywhere because anyone wanting to attack with it has to take a minute and two hands to open that one.

So, I’ve come to the realization that when I’m looking to buy a new knife whether it be a “hard use” blade or something for those dressier nights out to dinner, there is always a little voice in my head asking myself “How much of a “fidget factor” does said knife present me with?” Now that I’ve finally come to terms with this and accepted that its just a part of my many personal parameters when looking for a knife I wanted to ask the humble BF community how many of you suffer this same sickness? If so, what is your favorite “fidget knife” to annoy the roommate/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/aunt/uncle/brother/sister whoever it is you live with!

In case some of you care as to what my answer is..I’d have to say my BM Anthem or PM2 are about neck and neck for 1st in terms of “fidget-bility”. Anthem for the simple fact of the rocket firing blade speed/sound of the steel hitting the Ti and PM2 just because well...who in their right mind doesn’t enjoy “spydie flicking” their Spyderco?! :D

Thanks for sharing,
Pictures/descriptions as to why you pick the knife are encouraged!

Anthem is a wonderful fidget knife, however I consciously try not to fidget with knives in most situations, i'm sure the only one I've ever annoyed is my wife but that's just part of living with me ;). Careful fidgeting while you're driving, I had my Anthem on a road trip once and was opening/closing it while sitting in the passenger seat, my wife asked to find the next gas station so I pulled the phone out and set the Anthem on my lap and forgot about it. When we arrived at the gas station I jumped up from the seat launching the knife about 4 feet away onto the concrete (doh!!!) Scratched the Ti up pretty good.

Ouch I’ve sadly had this happened once with my Rat and once with a previous phone I had. Luckily neither of them suffered major damage, but I do feel for you my friend.

I don't make a habit of fidgeting with knives, but I do on occasion while reading/thinking at my computer. Usually I'm trying to get a feel for a new knife or new type of locking mechanism. I fiddled with the PM2 and Lil' Native compression locks since that was a new closing method for me. Lately, it's the BM Mini Crooked River with the Axis locking mechanism. I really like these locks that keep my hands free from the blade path, but I'm still trying to break the habit of reaching for a lockbar like I do with frame/liner locks.

I will admit I probably fidget with my WE 615 more than I actually use it to cut things. It has such a dang smooth action and I'm still enamored with the overall look and feel of the knife even after having it more than a year now.
