How do you dew?

If you want a knife to fidget with I suggest you try a balisong, spinning a karambit, or there are some other good fidget knives like trifolders. Take your fidgeting to another level.....either that or get a fidget spinner.
I can see cruising the boulevard with my BM42 in hand working my aerial to a chaplin with Reverend Horton Heat blasting through the sound system.

Ok, I made it through all 4 pages (at 20 posts per page setting, I'm not ready to live in the fast lane just yet)

I've summarized a response as: driving and playing with knives is akin to texting and driving, a big social no no at this time, I disagree with otfs sucking at edc tasks or fidgeting, that Vallatton conversion is sick, still can't figure out how this is a mountain dew thread?,..... and marcinek you're still the best brother!

Large Classic MM that my wife talked Butch into converting for me as a birthday present many years ago...pretty hard to find these days. Chris asked Butch to stop doing the conversions shortly after I had mine done.

So is there a secret button on the other scale or what? The way it seems to operate reminds me of that Protech Magic2 blade. Very cool man..I’m super jealous.

If so, what is your favorite “fidget knife” to annoy the roommate/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/aunt/uncle/brother/sister whoever it is you live with!

That would be my Cold Steel Holdout I. Only takes one or two loud whack sounds from opening it and I'm sure everybody would get far away from me. I wouldn't blame them.
As far as annoying people there is no one to annoy. I suppose I did a pretty good job of that before I ever got into one hand openable knives. (it's a natural talent I have)

The other night I did find my self opening and closing my Brad Zinker Boker Urban Trapper a few times for absolutely no reason other than the fact that it was in my hand and felt good to do. ( just bought it a week ago). There wasn't a repeat performance. I'm not a knife fidgeter. Actually the opposite. I enjoy stillness. Sick huh ?

The larger mokume inlay is the button;)

You sound like my kind of dude!

Honestly I am not good at tricks though I haven’t tried many. I’m pretty good at flipping them around like nunchucks in a continuous motion.

I like a prop. Something to fidget or play with while sitting around, when I'm forced to sit around.

Often times that involves a knife because I've always got one on me. I'd also be content tossing a ball lightly overhead, twirling a stick, flipping a coin, etc.

I don't like objects that make a lot of noise. Autos almost always make too much noise to fidget with, as do assisted knives. I also don't like things that get uncomfortable after a while. Some knives have thumbstuds that start to hurt your thumb.

I think my favorite knives to fidget with are Spyderco framelocks like the Sage 2 and the Ti Military. They're quiet and comfortable. My ZT 0850 is also nice.

I love the feel of a compression lock, like the pm2, but have never found the knife itself all that compelling. They're fun to play with for a bit, then I sell them. I've basically written the pm2 off at this point. Its a great knife... for someone else.

All that said... at the point where your fidgeting is annoying your wife or whomever you've probably wasted enough time. Go find something to do. Like post about fidgeting here

I agree some knives over an extended period of time start to take a toll on the thumb whether it be opening the knife or disengaging the linear lock, I’ve come across this with my Ontario Rat. Nice little cheap knife but damn it man, does the jumping on the lock tear up the thumb after a bit haha.

This thing is a monster man, I’ll be sure to show the lady friend what she is missing hahah

One warning for minor trolling.
Address the topic.

I fidget with whatever knife is on me. My faves are the Opinel N°10 and my new Le Thiers by Au Sabot. But I don't buy any with this in mind.

View attachment 882796 View attachment 882793 The assisted opening Camillus Aftermath has a high fidget factor. 91mm SAK for size reference.
I have to say I met an A/C tech on one of my jobs and he had some sort of Camillus blade, near little knife and from what I can remember I have never seen the type of “opening/licking system” before. Same with the picture you share with us, it just look unorthodox which isn’t bad at all but seems to be the norm for this maker?

All in all looks like I could have fun with it for a good while! :D

Those are awesome. I always wondered why Camillus calls all their modern folders “Cuda” though. They must have thought that was the coolest name ever.
The original Camillus company in upstate New York used the acronym CUDA to stand for Camillus Ultra Design Advantage. The new offshore Camillus company bears little resemblance to the old.

I call fidgeting hand therapy. I'm a retired hvac/pipefitter and both my hands are stiff and arthritic.
I open and close them; squeeze them etc. with both hands. Good for circulation, flexibility and strength.
Feels good.
