How does everyone spend so much time, money, and energy on their knives/guns/gear without their wives or girlfriends riding their asses about it?

easy, i have my own apt. :D just this month alone i blew about $700 CDN on new and used blades

in other words i like living dangerously. Cuz if she found out she would use all my knives to neuter me,......

RABII, I am probably the luckiest guy in the world. My wife would rather be in the back of our bass boat, sitting by a campfire, sleeping on the hard ground, shooting any of our handguns or rifles, or walking miles thru our local Bass Pro trying to find that magical largemouth crankbait. "IF" I ever go to BPS by myself or with a buddy, she never asks how much I spent, it's what did you get me . . . :D
Be safe.

You include them with "something just for them", like a Becker Necker !!! I also have a good wife. Hers is purses & shoes---mine is guns & knives, we all have our vices. :D Mine too would rather be camping or atving with me, but occasionally, she will take a trip with some family w/out me. I let her have at it. That also works both ways, i may not want to go to NYC, but i can sure use some more knives or guns !!! :D

Naw man, sorry. Just 3 older brothers who took her hunting & fishing with them and taught her about the outdoors when they were growing up. Now, I get to reap the spoils of their labor . . . :D

I just tell mine to shut her mouth and mind her own business...

obviously kidding here.. I've been pretty laid back lately as work was a slow start this year, but now that I'm swamped...........................................................................................................................................

I just got a newspaper ad showing a gun I admire over $100 off, I showed it to my wife and told her she needs to buy this one for her purse.. but.......she likes pretty guns, so I believe this is a reason for me to go buy this diamond back..

I can tell when enough's, enough and when to lay low a while, or I'll do some selling/trading to justify another buy or two..

I know its kinda wrong, but I don't tell her. And when I do tell her I assure her that it was with my money. (I allotted myself a self imposed allowance) With that said I'm on a limited budget for toys. I have a lot of hobbies and none of them are cheap ;)

Good point!!!

well, it's easy. have my own place. i have my own job. don't have terribly bad habits or addictions. i don't have major debt. but the big one? it's MY money. that's about it :)

oh, it doesn't hurt that i'm actually competent, so when the gear does need to be used, i'm considered useful.

the one time a past GF got all uppity about me having too much stuff, etc, i did point out her obsession with her sports car, her shoes, her bags, her shopping, her major credit card debt... that did not end well for her ;)

but mostly, i haven't handed the lads over to anyone, nor do i plan to.

I tried this once about 4 years ago. Finally broke down & bought a Kimber .45, & made the mistake of letting her go with me to the range. Haven't put 20 rounds thru it since . . . :(
BG, got your P/M, talk to you tomorrow buddy.
Be safe.

I get my bitched at all the time, but I just deal with it...........

valerian root tea :) and brownie in a cup :>

shuts them up every time. i mean, it pacifies them so they don't gut you while you sleep...

Bladite, this is true . . . My wife & I had one of our "tiffs" as we call them (can't even remember what it was about), and her parting words were, "You have to go to sleep sometime . . . . "
Ahhh, the good old days . . .

"let me know how that works for you" as you lock her out of the bedroom :)

My girlfriend has a shoe addiction so with every pair of shoes she buys I buy gear. And let me tell you she buys shoes often. And when she complains I buy too much stuff, I tell her I'll stop when she stops buying shoes, and that quiets her down. And my girlfriend hates the outdoors which is good, cause that's my time away from her, it's good to have break from each other now and then.

My ex was completely terrified of knives, like run away in tears if you pulled out a Spyderco Bug.

It didn't work out. :D

It's easy:
