I have 2 customs that are in the mail, funny thing is i wasnt going tooo nuts before but now that i know they are coming i just CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!!!! i need them NOW NOW NOW!!!!!, whew now that thats out of my system do you guys have any suggestions? what do you do to deal with "The Wait" Im sitting here flipping my CRKT M18 open a million times just to be playing with a knife, but when i look at it it makes me think of my customs!!!! argghhhhh... So what do you guys do, i've considered hitting myself over the head with my ASP baton, that would keep me quit for a while :)

FYI the customs in the mail are a 8" chef's knife with S30V and Natural green/black G10. And a 3" neck knife with high Carb Damascus(firestorm pattern) and Anodized(spelling?) Ti handles that are blue/gold :) Im going insane here.

I just think about how much I'd be happy when I cut open the packages and take the new babies out to play. Actually I don't cut open the packages, I tear them apart.:D

Lol, i always use my newest knife to open the package of my next knife, so i never use the same knife to open the new knives. I guess this time ill be going at these babies with my CS Recon tanto lol. Funniest time was when i was trying to open the box my PCKS Buck 110 came in with...... My BK&T Patrol Machete :D

Huh? what do you mean by that :) i have faith that the incoming knives will live up to their expectations, and if they dont then the maker will be getting them back to be fixed/modified, simple.

Actually I just sit and wait patiently for my knives to arrive. Sometimes I even forget that they are on the way. The mailman shows up and I see the package and say to myself, "Oh ya, I was expecting a knife wasn't I?". I have no idea why some people get in such a tizzy just because they have knives on the way to them.

Now if you believe what I just posted, I have a nice piece of land that you might be interested in. It has a great view of Santa's house.

Actually I just drink myself unconscious. The time just seems to fly by when you are passed out. I come too and my knife is there. It works like a charm. Doctor says my liver can't take much more of this, but what does he know anyway. It is better than sitting there staring out the window trying to will the delivery truck to appear. I used to try that and it never worked.

Now that I am too old to do any heavy drinking. :D I just enjoy the wait and the interactions with the maker. I will be picking up some knives at Blade that have been in discussions for years. (one of them since 1996). Each of them has been part of a wonderful journey with a new (not new any-more) friend. Three of them hopefully will be a culmination of a goal that was set by the maker to become an A.B.S. Master Smith. Being able to share in that goal to one degree or another whenever it happens is a lot of fun.

I just try to keep in mind that most good things take time and special things made by hand take even longer so I just "relax and enjoy the ride" and the friendships that develop.

For me the anticipation of waiting to get a new knife is fun.its the time betwwen ordering or buying a new knife thats a killer for me.Its seems I'm content until I get the knife I ordered. then I start thinking about my next purchase.

Print out full sized color pictures, cut them out, and pretend. Also, print out extra copies to leave in desk at work, bathroom at home, and next to couch. Also, pester my wife to distraction.

:)buy some knives that are immediately available!!

Yeah, Tom. Like you wouldn't happen to have a left hand medium recurve TNT in the old inventory box to spare me 15 months on the waiting list would you? I am taking your advice, but I will likely be bankrupt within 15 months. The latest fixes include a Emerson LH Commander and CQC-7B and a Benchmade LH 812 mini-AFCK. The current hunt is for a Benchmade LH 910 Stryker. You think waiting a week for the Brown Truck of Joy (tm) is a ripper? AAaarrggh! - Lee

Yeah, what Tom said. I am waiting for a TNT and Strider AR, that should get to me before the year is up. Until then I am buying production knives, and even thinking of ordering a custom that is ready to ship. Now, if I could only make more money to pay for all this I wouldn't have any problems.

I don't mind the three days wait from the maker to my house. What's hard on my system is the six months wait (minimum) between the order and the knive's arrival I am waiting on a Caffrey Progression II (two more bloody weeks!) a Strider AR (next month) and a Bradshaw Kaze (November). Oh yea, my JW Smith PT hits the porch TODAY!!:D
life's good!

Lol. I have a MT mini socom, and a MT vector on the way now rifter, so i know what u r going thru. And as always, if there are any probs with the stuff, send them back :) Lets hope the customs boys dont make them dull for ya :)

Thats one of my biggest fears is customs. I send one to france jan 7th, 2002 IIRC...no sign of it. tried tracking it from the customs label, nothin. Now I am working on its replacement. I sent it in one of those bubble bags and put cardboard liners in it, but i think one of the people recognized what it was and decided to get a new toy for himself :(

Not questioning your faith, I'm just referring to that sweet, sweet anticipation you get from the hunt. The kill and the trophy are the biggest part, for sure, but I do enjoy stalking the prey :)

just keep buying knives so that while you're waiting for one , another is arriving. It can get expensive but it's better than the looney bin:D

I've been waiting for 13 months for a knife. Just heard on Monday that it was shipped Saturday (overseas). The wait just got worse :D
