How do you guys deal with " The wait"

LOl flava. Im at college, no grinder :( blade is ground, ht, etc. Just need to clean up the blade and bring to 600 finish, and put handle on and make sheath. I will be back home in late may, and by the 1st of june, so it should be done around then :) sorry bout the wait...

Don't mean to be brutal, but what the hell are you talking about? Those of us that have been collectng customs directly from the makers for 30 years have had to wait YEARS for many knives, so a few days waiting for UPS,USPS or FedEx is no big deal! I also agree with Siegle, while waiting research and order more knives! I have found that I get my real enjoyment working with the custom maker rather than the final product. -Dick

:o :o :o

I just ordered a new blade yesterday.

It will be here tomorrow.

But, I can't seem to think of anything else...

:)

Yes, the wait is killing me. But, I couldn't possibly compare that to waiting for a custom to get finished.

However, once the knife is in the mail...it seems to chew at me, like money burning a hole in my pocket. I feel like I have to get out of my chair and do something about it. But, my hands are tied.

Best wishes. Hope your blade shows up soon!

Sounds like what I've been doing for the past few years :D

Im glad im not the only one that goes nuts with the wait. I just hope they arrive soon, I NEED that kitchen knife, i've been using my PCKS 110 for a kitchen knife lol.

I'm just hoping that the USPS is just slow right now. I have the insurance receipt, if I need to use it.

I think insuring the products justifies the workers stealing the items, rationalizing it that the person will get the $$ back from the insurance. Next time i ship anything out, besides the insurance, i'm getting delivery confirmation and tracking. I'm sick of this BS.

The waiting hasn't been too bad! Until I received the E-mail that my first custom knife was sent & I should see it about Tuesday. Then all hell broke loose! I was eyeballin' every UPS truck that came through the neighborhood & thinking - STOP here! STOP here! Well, one of those trucks stopped on Wednesday only I never saw it or heard it or my doorbell!! The guy never rang the bell!!! I just happened to go out on the front porch & saw this cardboard box laying there. When I saw the return address, the box "flew" into the house & I used my old, trusty slipjoint to cut that box open! Boy, this was better than Christmas morning! I had drawn my "dream" knife & let Ken & Paula Largin (Kelgin Knives) make it a reality. I'ts a beauty but I still can't get over that the UPS guy never rang the bell!
I finally calmed down but I'll be ready for the "next wait"!!!

I just got my old cleaver back from Bruce Bump. The wait wasn't as bad as waiting for my Sebenza. However, the payoff was just about as good!

He put a sweet-ole polish on it. I'm going to take some pictures and post 'em later.

He also put a NICE edge on it. I pulled it out of the box, and sure enough, it shaved hair off my hand. (keep doing this...ain't gonna have much left!:D)

Thanks Bruce!

I just put a Carson Model 4 on layaway and It should be all paid for in a couple weeks. I was lucky, I got the steel I wanted, the handle I wanted, and the size I wanted without waiting 2 years for it.

For me, the wait is over...for now...

My Jens Anso Personal Sheepsfoot just arrived. It's been 14 months. It sure is purty though. :D

Well, the wait is finally over. Got my mini socom last week, and the vector should be here in today's mail. Rifter got his blades, finally, but the customs guys played with them a bit, making one of the blades slightly duller, and scuffing/scratching some one the heat anodization off of the damascus and titanium neck knife. :(
