How do you keep your guy's pocket clip from scratching your steering wheel?

I don't have a problem with the steering wheel but I've scratched the side of both my cars with pocket clips. I try to be careful but sometimes I forget and hear a nice little scrape.

I have never had a problem with it in my car which is tiny for my size but has a problem when driving my wife's suv. Her steering wheel is at the highest position but I stick catch it when I get in or out if I don't pay attention

There are lots of situations that arise when carrying knives or concealed carry guns and it's going to be different
for every person, vehicle or carry style.

I think your best option is to just slip the knife all the way into your pocket before you get into the car and once
you get out use the clip again. You could also consider a belt sheath for your knife. Whether it be a custom fitted
leather one, or a generic cordua/velcro etc. I've carried an SMF in a belt sheath for many years and it never damages
anything. I did scratch the clip lying on the asphalt working on my truck but that was my own fault.

Car what car ? Problem what problem ?

I drive a 2013 Tacoma double cab 4 x4. I'm 6' 2" and 210. I hate riding in a car, sit on the seat and move my legs in, push myself out to get out.....not fun.

I've never had my clips come anywhere near scratching my wheel...kinda curious about how you get out of your car.

The inside space in those isn't much bigger than that of a compact car these days. I've traveled in one and it felt claustrophobic.

I have had that problem steering wheel at its highest position just isn't high enough. Only happened ounce then when I fig out the problem I bought a steering wheel cover and that fixed the problem. Now not to worried about it steering wheel cover wears out its easy to replace and no unsightly scratches.

I've never in my life heard of a pocket clip scratching a steering wheel.

I'm trying to imagine it myself. only thing i can come up with is if you turn completely first then get up.

I tend to slide a bit to the left first so that when I turn, my hips can clear the steering wheel. However, when I used to clip my flashlight in my left front pants pocket, I gashed the inside jamb of the car door. I just keep the flashlight completely inside the left front pants pocket now.

I have more of a problem of the bottom part of the seatbelt (the plastic box attached to the seat) rubbing and scratching my clips.

I don't have your problem with scraping my pocket clip, as I live in Australia, so the driver sits on the opposite side. More to the point, I don't even carry a knife with a pocket clip! :D Only have my thrunite T10T clipped to my back right pocket.
I work in a vineyard though, and often wear my secateurs on my belt. They stick out the bottom of the pouch, and often fall sideways, and point towards the door, and often scrapes against it when it's closed.

Happens all the time to me. I regret not getting the automatic steering wheel that moves up when I turn the car off. My seats have thick side bolsters and I'm always hitting the steering wheel with the pocket clip. The Ti clips are the worst. I might try rounding the edges on some of them.

I have the same issue, bought a 15 STI a few months ago and when driving a manual transmission, you need to sit closer to the wheel to drive the car properly. My sebenza tore up the side of the wheel so bad from getting into the car that i had to buy a new wheel. my solution is now, either wearing longer shirts to cover the clip or putting my knife in my left front pocket for the ride. Im not paying 700 for another wheel lol.
