^^This.

The Game Warden always lets me know when I have enough knives. I expect she will tell me again after the next knife I buy lol. ;)

Probably when you see a story like this on the news sites:
"Man killed by avalanche of knives.
A local man died today when he went to get one of his knives from his closet.
When he opened the closet, all 10,000 knives in his collection fell on him at once." ;)

When I can't pay the rent. Or the electric.

I have about 25 to 30 right now. Most of them I don't even use any more. The funny thing is that I am beginning to look at knives and ask the myself if they will work any better than what I already own. That tells me that I own enough knives.

A few days ago my wife found a package from Kershaw in the mail box. Then I got "The Look". You married guys know what I am talking about. Lucky for me, the package was only replacement washers and screws. She is very supportive of my knife purchases but, I have picked up about 6 new knives in the last couple of months. I guess my wife is telling me that I have bought enough blades for now.

If you're married, don't ever count or inventory your knives. If you do, do it for insurance purposes and tell no one outside of your insurance. For this is what got me in trouble. My wife loves my knives but we inventoried them together and now I am no longer allowed to buy new ones without selling a few others first to raise the funds. Our collection is pretty modest too at about 60. Living in Germany right now helps too, as prices are very high over here.

When I was young I thought that when I ran out of belt room on my pants that I had enough knives. Not the case at all. Perhaps I will have enough knives once I pass away, as they keep accumulating like everything else in life.

When you see a knife for sale and you can't come up with a reason why it should join your collection, you probably have enough knives. I thought I was at that point once, then I proceeded to buy three more knives in a month, now I think I'm at that point again, but I can't know for sure. It's an ongoing question you keep asking yourself.

Enough?! I really don't understand the question. :) (yes, being ironic)

Do you ask a philatelist if he/she have enough stamps?

I had enough knives technically after I bought my first folder. Realistically I probably would never run out of a wish list.

You don't know, just when you think you've had enough....
