I want a zt 0620 with front flipper, back flipper and spyder hole. Since he already has Emerson wave and thump disc on him, he can transform into Voltron. (If there was such a knife, I would definitely buy it)

Free time it’s mostly nick.
Work time it’s mostly hole.

Autos are their own thing and those are fun, but I voted for thumbstud. Fullers and front flippers feel like an afterthought that shouldn't ne the primary way to open the knife, and I'm kind of tired of the proliferation of conventional flippers that have flooded the market. Flippers need to be flipped just right, and they often rely on clean ball bearings to work reliably. Plus it's a little more awkward to get your grip in place after opening with a flipper vs a thumb stud, and the tab can snag and open the knife in the pocket.

Holes aren't bad, but a lot of the time for the hole to be accessible the blade has to be made taller, which makes the knife less compact in the pocket. And for me at least, pushing a thumbstud forward and parallel to the handle always seems to open faster and more reliably than a thumb hole.

Pretty much all of them . Variety is good !

Favorite is wave (with shake / gravity backup) .

How do you even describe the maneuver used for the Scorpion Lock (AD15) ?

I think we can put this wrist move in the same category as gravity knives, just like button locks.

Oops, I was wrong. Nail nicks are not the absolute worst. The Scorpion lock is the absolute worst. The AD15 is the only knife that ever cut me without me doing something stupid (unless you count the chef's knife that fell out of the dishwasher, but that was not the knife's fault).

Blasphemy! You uncultured heathen!😉

I'm in the other category as well. I'm still a slip joint guy at heart, but I do prefer ones that can be pinched open.
I confess I was wrong. I forgot about the AD15. I updated my list.

I used to keep a slipjoint in my pocket almost all the time I was out and about because it was probably legal without a concealed carry permit in Florida. But they were all pinchable. Now, you can conceal almost anything.

I'm a tradition thumbstud kind of guy. I've been carrying thumbstud knives since I was like 8 and they feel like the gold standard to me. My next would be opening holes. Then back flippers. I've owned, and still own, many front flippers and in my opinion they're very hard to get just right. With too much jimping they end up cutting my thumb over time, I like them to be just barely jimped, and with very shallow jimping.

Besides a really well done thumbstud knife, my favorite are knives that have multiple opening methods where you can use the thumbstud/opening hole and a flipper.

Have ya had any of Emersons flippers? Flipper, thumb disk and wave! The action on them is very impressive, fly open with all options and drop shut! He’s really stepped it up the last couple of years.

No, I've never had any of their flippers. I've owned a couple Emersons in the past, and thought they were cool knives, although the chisel grind on the presentation side felt a bit off for me and my mainly outdoor uses. I wouldn't mind trying another one someday if I came across a cheap user. I do like the wave opener though, it's a very cool invention. I found out about this Dirk Pinkerson designed Kizer Inversion last year after they were discontinued, I messaged Dirk and he had one left over and hooked me up! It's a really cool design. I don't carry it as often as I should, but I like to not use the edge for any edc stuff at all and just keep it strictly for it's intended use in case, god forbid, the situation were to ever happen.

I’m a back flipper guy, but thumb stud is preferred on assisted flippers. Not a fan at all of thumb holes - my thumb just doesn’t work well with them. In fact I have a nice one in the exchange right now.

I do like a spydiehole, but my middle finger is too long to spydieflick even my Manix 2.

Flipper tab is #1 in my book, by a good amount….
Followed by a hole or thumb stud for #2.
Still wanna try a front flipper eventually, but only if the rest of the knife is right for me
ETA the wave is a fun one too

Large spyderco blade hole is my favorite and what I use 95% of the time. I only have one folder that I carry that doesn't have the large spyderco blade hole.
I've tried flippers and thumb studs and they don't work as well for me. I fully embrace one-hand operation, frequently when I need the knife I have something in my other hand.. I want to pull the knife out and open it without looking at it. With flipper tabs and thumb studs I have to fiddle around to get my finger or thumb positioned just right or it will slip off of the device and I have to start over. The large spyderco hole is easy to hit and gives enough traction that my thumb won't slip off so it is the easiest and most reliable to use.
