How Do You Organize Smaller Tools?

For my needle files I have drilled a set of holes in a block of wood and placed them so that they are sticking up so I can select the file I need when doing file work, like what leather worker use for leather-tooling tools.

Here's how I organize mine:

Oh, wait!
Nevermind!

I was just looking at the Enco holiday mailer and noticed they had the really nice machinist's chests on sale, which they do fairly often but right now if you buy one you get a nice Wilton vise for free included. The chests are nice and run about $200 and up on sale, but the added vise is a plus and the chests are great for bits and small tools/tooling.

Haha bill I like it... I just get a good cuff on the back of the head if I leave all the tools out like that for too long :D

My logic is... if I put them away, I'm just going to need it again in 5 minutes... or an hour... or tomorrow.

I just made a box to keep the really common smallish tools together. It also has a small flat piece of removable steel as a small, raised workspace. I built it around the size of the drawers from one of my hang on the wall organizers.

Not sure if this picture will show up right but:

So, after I posted about the plastic bins, I remembered what I bought this summer lol. An old dentists cabinet (like this http://woodysantiques.com/artdeco/1950dentalcabinetL.jpg), it's on wheels and is the perfect height for working on. As soon as I clean up my shop (just moved in, loads of clutter) I will start moving the tools in. Of course, I will post a pic then as well...

That cabinet would bring a pretty penny from serious knife collectors, as a display cabinet.
