How do you pronounce SOG

The name Bowie;

Is that...
Bow-wee
or
Boo-Eeee


SOG,
S-O-G pronounced as individual letters is the official way to say it.

Similarly for the elite British SAS.
Everyone but the SAS pronounces it as the letters S-A-S; but it's actually saas (generally S-A-S is pronounced into a single word SAAS as in "sassy")

Thanks! That one (the pronunciation of Bowie, Jim vs. David) always confused me. I always thought David's last name was pronounced, Bow (like what one uses to shoot an arrow)-Ee.

In German Fällkniven is pronounced:

FELL (like falling) KNEE (pronounce the K as well) FEN

I've always assumed its close to the Swedish pronunciation, but I can't be sure.

I always thought Busse was pronounced BOO SU, but I'm probably wrong.
 
I say S O G (individual letters).

As for Busse, I always thought it was pronounced like Gary Bussey's last name. Guess I'm wrong on that one.

Yep. I always thought Busse was pronounced like the bolded part of the word, abuse, as in what a Busse knife can take a whole lot of.

I've heard it pronounced both as tan-toe (like if you were to expose your toe to the Sun), and as tawn-toe (like the Lone Ranger's sidekick). I'm not sure which is correct.

Fallkniven, or actually Fällkniven is pronounced something like this:
Fell
Elk
Knee
Ven (as in Raven or Vendela or maybe when but with a V.)
FellKneeven
You put the word together in one and
pronounce with extra on F and K.
It is actually three words put together.

Fäll, as in "fell that tree". Can also mean rug as in bear rug (flattened out bear lying on the floor.) Fälla means trap or to fell, Fält also means field.
(Fälla, Fällde, Fält/ Fell, Felt, felt)

Kniv, which quite obviously means knife.

En, which means that the Kniv word changes from A knife to That knife.
If you took of the EN ending it would be "a folding knife"

The whole word Fällkniven means folding knife, or more exactly "that/this folding knife".
Jag vill ha den fällkniven (pointing at one over there).
Jag vill ha den här fällkniven (holding one).
(There is a tricky one in "Jag vill ha denna fällkniv", the word Fällkniv is just any, but the word Denna (this particular) show that it is not just any knife, but this knife.
 
Nobody even mention the word, Karambit (or Kerambit or Korambit)! I've heard that word pronounced so many different ways that I don't know if there even is a correct pronunciation (or spelling), and which syllable the accent is supposed to be on..

SOG has/had nothing to do with MACV-S.O.G., so any references to the name of this company being an acronym are incorrect. Sure, they prefer for folks to link the two, but this company wasn't even in existence during the Vietnam war and obviously did not source any of the famous MACV-S.O.G. knives. So, buy the knives if you wish, but understand that the association between MACV-S.O.G. and SOG knives is wholly fictitious.

I've heard both:

"fell elk nee ven" and "fell nee ven"

I suppose it all depends on who's saying it. Sort of like being in New England and pronouncing "Worchester" as wor-che-ster, instead of "woo-ster".
