how do you stay sane when waiting for a knife

Well, I ordered a knife from the Busse company store last Sunday. Thing came up with an error so I didn't get a confirmation number, but my account was debited. To beat it all, the guy who does email was on vacation this week. ARRRRGH! :D

So, just calm yourself with the fact that you know that your knife really is on the way!

Oh, BTW, I don't have any real tricks, I just go nuts until a knife gets here. :p
 
I'm going nuts. I have three on order, two of which are customs. It hurts, and it's hard to restrain myself from buying 'meantime' knives.
 
Spooky I found it is always fun to torment people waiting for knives by posting as many pics of them as I can find. :D

When I ordered my first Busse(ash) there was a series of SNAFU's that prevented me from getting my knife for almost 4 months, Amy-O was great though so that eased the waiting.
My second(comp edge hell razor) was bought face to face with no wait.
 
I'm waiting for my first 4 mora's through a snafu at SMKW on a return deal from them sending me stainless opinels when I ordered carbon steel ones and then them not having any carbon steel ones for the exchange :mad:. Been 2 weeks that they've had the returned package (verified through UPS). They JUST shipped out my mora's yesterday.
 
I like to savor the time that it gets home. It is nice to have something to look forward to. Otherwise, good advice; kick the dog and read the neighbor's mail
 
I tend to strop all my knives and reorganize the safe and make all the necessary accommodations for the new knife.

I have a David Mosier Defiant Folder on order that I put a deposit on July 1. 2008 and just got an e-mail saying it will go in work around mid November. The DM folder is an exercise of patience for sure but it will be worth it come December.

Sane? What's that?

I have knives on order that I probably won't see for another year or more, and some that might get finished any time. Those aren't bad until they get shipped and then every day seems like a month. The shipping wait is the worst.
