how do you stay sane when waiting for a knife

When I ordered my Emerson Mini Commander a guy at work would ask me "hey where is your Emerson" and I would always just look at him and smile and say "It's not here yet" and then he did the same thing when I was waiting for my CQC 8.

Same trick I use to stop myself buying knives when the cash is low. I rotate my knives; pulling one out from the back of the drawers that I haven't used for a while and getting to know it again.

Been doing that on and off for a few months now. My knives a getting sharper and sharper and one's even got a new sheath (made it yesterday, just got to dye it now)

It keeps the (in?)sanity at bay!

I usually clean and paint the room it will live in. I'll petition my wife or daughter to bake a cake for the day of it's arrival. I'll make flyers for the neighbors to drop by and see it, RSVP of course. If it's still not in, I'll either play with one of the other knives or sit at the table with my head in my hand, and tap my foot 'til it arrives. Sometimes I'll whistle a tune or count sheep...

((( :D )))

Excellent choice on the Highland, Bob! It should be there by now! Let's see some pics!

Thats the same thing I do. Start carrying ones I havent in a long time. I rotate them in an out so it "seems" like I am carrying a new one till it does arrive.

Im kicking my self for using money order because its been in the f ing mail for a week and it still hasnt got to its destination im contemplating driving down there and picking it up lol :D

Sharpen everything you have to the point of shaving your face with it! Including kitchen knives axes! It takes a bit of time, and you end up feeling closer to your knives and you appreciate the new one even more!

Spend 12-15 months in Iraq working 7 days a week with between 12-18 hours a day...time goes by fast:D

Tony how do you like your highland for bushcraft

I just got it in a trade a couple of weeks ago, and haven't taken it out yet.

I love the foxriver though and it is sure to perform the same, as it's just a smaller version of it. I don't think you'll be disappointed:thumbup:

I just got my 100 and 101st knives.RS6 Raven and ESK.I have a pack on the way.THAT I'm antsy for.I'm going to take all of them out together.Damn night shift kills me sometimes.

I kill the jitters by sharpening, tinkering, cleaning. Then I go get them messy again and repeat till the new arrival gets here.
