I work with a lady that sews and was thinking of getting some heavier material and having her make me a custom knife roll to keep my knives in.

What kind of set up do you use? Please post pics if you can.

Thanks!!

I spent a lot of time and tracked down old original display cases for the different makers.

Here is a Schrade

I use the AOTDP storage system ( all over the damn place) There are never any little kids around my place so they are in boxes, totes, Bags and drawers. I have two knife Blocks in the kitchen. There are half a dozen on my computer desk. Next years hunting knives are in my hunting vet pockets ready for next season. There are about twenty big knives in my recliner chair. There are knives in the Jeep and the Garage as well.

I keep mine in a small safe, with some in my desk drawer too. I don't have a huge collection so no issue with having to create space for them.

I have a little rubber maid bin under the end table in the living room. I also have a bag-o-sand sandpaper (in one of those green grocery shopping bags) also under the end-table, just in case I get a stropping urge. Its starting to piss my wife off a bit. However, she does appreciate my putting my crap back into the rubber maid and shopping bag when I'm done with it.

Some of mine are in a desk drawer, my edc's get dumped on top of a shelf when they're not in my pocket, and there are a couple cheapos tucked away in the vehicles. My two medium fixed blades are on my work bench in the garage, so I can just grab one as I head out the door towards the woods or wherever.

I've been paring down and I only have a handful of knives right now, all users, so they don't get the red carpet treatment.

Most of mine are all locked up safe, though I wish I had the space right now to have them in a nice case displayed. I do have some strewn about my desk and a little shelf above my desk for my favorite edc's

At the moment I have some in knife rolls and other just lying anywhere there's space. I keep my straight razors in a box filled with silica gel.

I have a Messermeister case for a lot of my smaller knives, the larger ones seem to multiply and hang out all over the place though.

It's a problem for me, and getting out of hand....the desk is full, two small cabinets are occupied and parts of the wardrobe are under siege....the kitchen has some pioneers there too(not the kitchen cutlery either!)

I've a couple of padded rolls with fleece lining with Remington on them I got from the Bay.These are very good for slipjoints or other folders and offer protection.can't seem to get any more though.

The belt knives are the real problem though as I don't like keeping them in the sheath too much, but they are potentially dangerous.I'm looking for a heavy duty magnetic strip or some such.

I keep most of my collection on display, either in cabinets or on my walls. My place looks like a knife museum. You can purchase cheap wood cabinets with glass shelves and sliding doors from Ikea, and then use wood or plastic stands to support your knives. It keeps them reasonably dust-free, and lets you enjoy your blades as you wander about the place. With the wall hangers, I use modified pairs of brass hooks, shaped to the contours of the blades / handles of my knives. I try to pair these with pictures from trips where the knives featured prominently. It makes for great conversation, though it does also mean that I live in what may be the least child-friendly home of all time.

It's a bit too dark and gloomy here to take any decent pictures, but here's an old one:

All the best,

I put all my users in my dresser drawers, and all my "collection pieces" are displayed in a case my dad made me in my room.

In a shoe box under my bed, with a rust inhibitor.
I have a cool EMT roll case I may end up putting them in sometime, but I am trying to figure a way to make that a part of my kit bag.

Every knife I own is a user. If I don't use it I sell or trade it for something I do.

That said, they're stuffed in gearbags, door of my vehicle, on my person, in the kitchen, etc. I think I know where they're all at. :D

That's pretty much my system as well. They are put in places where I'll need them so it's organized, but they all are not in one place.

I have a few that spend time together in a drawer, but the users are where they need to be in order to get used.

This is pretty much my storage idea too. My kitchen knives are in a chef's roll in my kitchen, and I keep my small edc rotation on my dresser, but otherwise its fair game. Hunting knifes in hunting bags, fishing knives in lifejacket pockets or in tackle boxes. Backup EDC folder in my jeep just in case, along with an opinel #7 and a tramontina machete. Folders on top of the fridge, on the bookshelf, coffee tables, everywhere, and I don't even have all that many knives.

I have a lofted bed in my house and I use to have them in a rubbermaid container up there but lately they seem to be in a big pile. One day I hope to get a nice case for them all.

my sock drawer, which has very few socks in it. two satchel bags, and some ikea boxes with little pull out drawers.

I'm currently working on figuring out a safe, but it has to fit a few long rifles, and so on, too.
