How do you store your knives?

My knives are in orignal boxes stored in large size aluminium tool box with foam padding and dividers.

I use Maxpedition Razorshells for fixed blades and very large folders. I use the Maxpedition Dodecapod for medium to large folders. I store boxes separately.

I have an old bag where I throw my SAKs and multitools in. The other knives are mostly stored in a drawer.

My wife collects Harmony Kingdom boxes. We started out buying older display cases from collectible type stores as they changed lines. That source dried up as they went out of business. The last local store that closed, after I helped them during their closing, sold me their trio of H.K. branded 6 ft tall display cases. My wife was happy - and gave me her older/smaller displays; one sits on a desk while the other sits atop it's laminated covered base - with locking storage (boxes!). The displays are all glass with high intensity lamps atop them, two glass shelves, and a mirrored bottom shelf. When I bought them used, initially for my wife, they were $50 & $65. Check locally owned Hallmark stores, etc, for similar such old displays. Sure - they offer little security. One could get in them with a hammer... but what a mess. The locking doors keep small hands out. This allows me to 'see' my collection, while offering egress for EDC changes. I did keep the folders in a desk drawer; the fb's in a sock drawer. I do have a small safe - but it's for other goodies.

I picked this up at a local hardware store on sale for about $20. Works well.

Timberweasel -- I like your solution!

My wife is an inveterate bauble collector, and she has a bazillion of those little soft felt (and other material) draw-string jewelry bags for travel protection for bracelets, rings, etc. She doesn't need them, so she gives them all to me. I keep the knives in these bags (one each), and store the bags in an armoire, file cabinet, and dresser drawer -- but I will look into getting something simple but compartmentalized, like Timberweasel has.

My EDC knives (a Superhawk and Perrin PPT) sit on top of the dresser, awaiting the next day's wear. A first-gen Yojimbo sits on the nightstand.

This isn't done yet, still need to put the door on with the glass window, but I'm making a couple cabinets for mine like this. Has lights and glass shelves and an area in the bottom for sheaths and such that the door will cover. I'll probably show it off with better pictures when it's all done. It's nice for showing them off, and between opening them and folding them you can make it look full no matter how many you have.

For my folders, I use the large Spyder-Pac. It's a great way to keep my knives organized and easy to transport. For my fixed blades, I just put them all in a nice little canvas zip-up tote.

Used to keep my folders in cigar boxes, and I really liked that for quite awhile, but the Spyder-Pac system is working great for me.

I know, I know it's a crappy pic:o

yes that is a fuzzy monkey, a buddha. and a wooden VW beetle. Deal with it:D

I use a plastic one piece Sterilite storage unit. It is sitting next to me right now. Mine is skinnier, has three drawers, and HAS WHEELS (manditory, lol) so I can push it to where I am at, and then back to the bedroom when I am done. It is 25" high, 8" wide, 13" deep: purchased at Wally World, I think. I built 2 little wooden shelves (1x1s) with legs that I placed in the upper two drawers so I can store at two separate levels in one drawer. The container is lined with thin packing foam sheets and the shelves have cardboard and foam sheets. I have big users immediately accessable, on the top shelf in one drawer and little users on top in the second drawer. I store fixed blades out their sheaths below the shelves. The third drawer is used for safe queens and non-users in boxes and empty boxes. The bottom needs to have the most weight so it does not tip over when opening shelves. Works perfectly! I store 30-40 in the one unit! Because it is skinny and has wheels I can squeeze it into many good hiding places around the house. It looks like it belongs in the kitchen. Maybe behind the trash can in the pantry?;)
This sounds intriguing. Would you mind posting a picture?

I use the Spyderco pacs and modified them a tad to allow them to be hung for display purposes. Look pretty good and excellent protection for your knives!!

Do you have any pictures of this? I would love to see what it looks like, or how many knives you can store. I've been looking for something like this for a while
