How do you think the new Gso6 will compare to the 5.1?

thank you all for being so welcoming! I have been checking out some of the threads and there is so much great info here! Thank you all and I can't wait for the Hats to start shipping out :) haha

Resurrecting this one from its death bed as Friday May thirteenth is the deadline for ordering the GSO 6 and all of a sudden I've got an urge for one of these over the new spec 5.1 which will have its 48 hours window closed tomorrow, 5/11.

I wonder if the new GSO 6 will also come with the new micro textured handles since the handle scales are exactly the same in size?

I have a 6 on preorder with g10 and would be wrapped if they can be MT
 
I'm just gonna go ahead and order a GSO 6 with the Orange G10 hoping that Survive! will be fulfilling orders when they become ready to ship using the micro textured versions. In the meantime keeping one of the 2nd GSO 5.1s and the recently ordered 2nd 4.7. I'll sell the remaining 5.1 whenever I get the new GSO 6. This way, I won't suffer from withdrawal symptoms.

What was that old saying? Once you go GSO, anything less is a no-go?

Now I can officially join the b*tch and moan brigade when I'm still waiting as of May 2017 :D

Joking aside, my current order number as compared to the the order which I had placed on Monday 5/09 for a Factory 2nd 4.7 is up by exactly 383 which is a very good healthy sign that the new 5.1 preorder must have added some extra cha-ching in the Survive! coffers!

I have real high hopes for the 6, i think it will be "the one" knife to rule them :D

That's why I decided not to "sissyfy" it so I avoided the ferro notch and the bow-drill divot :D
Seriously though, those are the features I would most likely want on a bushcraft model.
Maybe a ferro notch on a GSO 3.5 model would also be a useful feature!

IMO don't order any with the notch unless you are 1000% sure you want one.

It can always be added later, but pretty hard to remove.
 
I think also the spine is re-designed so that now it can spark a ferro rod anyway
