How does a BM compare to a Khukuri

Third, KLOs -- Kukri Like Objects -- such as the Cold Steel, Ontario and S&W ones are bent machetes and do not give the advantages of a real kukri. You're better off with a latin-style machete, golok, or cane knife if you want what amounts to a sharpened piece of sheet metal. Any of those three will generally cost less and perform better than the KLO...

A dissenting vote indeed!
I heartily disagree, in that I think the blades unfairly dubbed KLO's by the fans of HI and their traditional Khukris are for the money the best choppers out there. I own sevral central and South American made machetes as well as some South African ones, I I'd put my CS and Ontario Kukris (& no not the stupid $20 version!) over them ANY day of the week for serious chopping. To call these tools machetes seems ignorant. It's simple Physics! Not to mention I convex all my blades and that I own which I feel increases the chopping power considerably.
Maybe I misunderstood you, but this is stuff I normally hear from people putting crap on the "KLO's" saying that they lack the near magical properties of a "real" Khukri. IMHO it smacks of elitism and has no basis in reality.
But maybe I'm wrong , and if so my humblest apologies.

there are people with a lot of experience here, but brother...some H.I. knives completely ridiculize the BM. the fit and finish of the mistresses are waaaaay better, but performance wise... let me share a few videos I found a while ago... I believe the guy who published them is a member as well.

And bear in mind the AK is not the heavy duty chopper of the H.I. herd, it is something like the jack of all trades among the H.I. line up.

I'd prefer Kuk vs Kuk.

I wonder if you realize you are chiming in on a five year old conversation.

I didn't bother to look, but is that a bad thing???
I always see more "senior" BF members apparently making fun of, or feeling it is their solemn duty to point out to others that someone has commented/revived on an old post/thread.
Personally, I don't get what the big deal is... Are you cooler if you only post on the most current threads or something???
I honestly don't get it...
Cheers.

Well, it doesn't make for very good conversation to talk to someone who may or may not post here anymore.

But it's an interesting thread anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

I do see your point. But two things:

I'm kinda new here and 1. I'm still learning the forums' etiquette. and 2. I don't really "know" anybody here, I may see some guys that I recognize that also have a YouTube channel talking or testing blades, but I'm mostly here for info, pictures, reviews and a bit of discussion on knife design knife companies, and philosophy. If I'm commenting on a thread or post it's because I feel I have a point to make or a question to ask. If the original poster doesn't respond, others probably will... Maybe, Maybe not.
That's all. :)

Having inadvertently resurrected an old thread myself, I appreciate it if someone points it out before I make a ton of posts that are dated. This is a pretty good group of people and I don't thing V was trying to put you down.

I was born in Washington, so let me welcome you to the forum!

In any case, it is an interesting thread and I am glad you found it for me, so Happy Day After Thanksgiving!

Thanks! :)
and I really DO appreciate being set right when I'm ignorant!
JT :)

I looked into this thread and got quite confused. The whole first page is littered with people saying Busse doesn't have a khuk. Took me a bit to realize this thread was back from the dead.

Shoot, JT, no apologies! I was just pointing out the age of The thread, and as a matter of fact Busse has come out with several khuks since then.
Welcome to the forum!

This thread needs pics! Nice find man, a blast from back in the day when a busse Kukri was merely a pipe dream
