How does zt do it

My 0562CF is easily my favorite blade. For the money I don't think it can be beat. I've had a chance to compare it to more expensive knives and for me the 0562CF wins every time.

I've spent just as much on the Ti scale and Ti hardware though, doubling the cost..... totally worth it!
Im a himderer fan boy through and through but i honestly feel like my 0562 is just as nice as any of my hinderer's
And i love the orange and black color scheme
of my 0562

I had been wanting a Hinderer XM 3.5 wharncliffe for a long time.... Finally got one and hugely disappointed. I love things about it, but the lack of detent and crappy flipping action along with a blade opening in my pocket for no reason and slicing my hand.... Yeah, that was enough.

The Hinderer is a great looking knife with great ergos. Mine has zero detent which ruins the knife for me. I can shake the knife and it flies open. All my ZT's have super strong detents. I may mod the detent on the Hinderer to my liking at some point in the near future.

The only thing I don't like about my 0562 is that unlike the Hinderers, the thumb studs are only there as blade stops, so there's only one way to open it one handed.

It really depends on the way the detent is dialed from ZT, and there is some variation there. On mine the detent is set just right so I can easily fire it off the thumb stud, I can even middle finger flick it. But I know not all of them come this way.

It's all about making sure you get the right Hinderer. The current generation models seem to all come with very well dialed, snappy detents. My last 3.5" XM honestly flipped as hard, and fell shut as readily as my 0562CF. There are some out there with mushy detents, especially older models. But as of now, I think the stuff rolling out of RHK is right on the money as far as flipping action goes.

Got a 0630 a couple weeks ago. I usually carry a bit smaller knives but the ZT has been getting most of the pocket time other than at work (where it could possibly get me fired). It won't be my last ZT.

Ive never had that problem i must say, but i feel quite sure rhk would stand behind their product.
I own 6 hinderer's but understand what im getting. They will never flip like a knife on bearings. And to be honest i like to tune mine like a sebenza i enjoy that hydraulic feel just as much if not more than a flipping action.
Call rhk and let them fix the knife. Its bad for
Buisness to unsafe knives rolling in peoples pockets.
I really hope you get the hinderer like you want it and enjoy it.

Hinderer is a knife I hope to get and like someday. Have had two and they did not work for me. Want to keep trying but made an executive decision that unless I can pick one out in person I will never buy another. And since there are no stores around me that carry them I guess I will never own one. The Bowie or wharny are my most desired.

Can't go wrong with any ZT. Always perfect and amazing for the price.

I do agree that they do feel a little soulless and by the numbers. Would love to see some more variety from them.

There are some very upstanding and honest people here. If they are selling rhk's on the exchange they will be honest on how that particilar hinderer flips. Negative feed back isnt worth lying about the action on a hinderer. I would also venture to guess that a good seller here sold you a hinderer that you were unhappy with they would give you your money back.
If you go to the exchange and find the sales thread "the great hinderer sell off" the gentleman takes the time to describe the action for each one.
Fans of the hinderer brand kind of "get it"
The need to accurately describe the action.
Newcomers to hinderer often expect an earth shattering experiance and are let down when the blade doesnt fire like an automatic otf

The numbering system doesnt come across as souless to me. I prefer to some of the silly cliche name like: the beast, or the super commander or the death on contact. Those come across as silly to me. Zt's numbering system is simple and tastefully put on the blade along with the maker they worked with on the knife
I look at it, like a designer and a company got together to bring us damn near midtechs, (the 0920 with les george comes to mind) at fantastic price points.
I think it's great to be able to get a feel of a les george for sub 250$.
Zt putting fourth the effort that they do to expose us to high end makers screams soul to me.

.... got to wondering how they give us their product at their price point.
I had a 0920 that was ever bit as good as knives double it's price. They are American made with top notch materials. Those are two reasons some makers use to justify their prices.
This price point (range) on knives is something you're comfortable with. I for one found ZT's expensive. I eventually came around to getting one and I like it. They seemed to set the stage for the medium priced mid-techs and people like them. So, Kai (ZT), go for it. You're satisfying a picky niche in the knife market. I think they make a good product. Flippers seem to be the rage these days.

I have been very impressed with every ZT knife, and I have, or have had an 0301, 0550, 0560 (2), 0561 (2), 0566, and now want to get an 0562 due to everything I have read, and seen.
