How does zt do it

No doubt the SLT is interesting. It adds a bit of complexity to a design that works fine with a simple extended tang. But it is kind of fun to play with.

I did get the problem fixed with my 0055 today. Detent so strong it was even difficult with leather gloves. And without the gloves, fu-git-about-it.

I ended up filing just a hair from the inside of the detent hole on the blade. It took a long time, as I went very slow ensuring not to take too much. Scrape a bit, put back together, no joy, disassassemble, repeat. Now flies open without extreme pain. Nice.

I don't know how they do it either. Hard to beat them for the $$$. Impossible, I would say.

Hoping for an all titanium 0452 eventually.

Yes sir! I've never been one to carry a blade over 3.75" but due to its slim profile and relatively light weight for its size (5.05oz), it carries quite nicely. Well done ZT and Sinkevich...well done.

I think that ZT producing the 0452 was a bold and great move. It showed people that a folder didn't have to be a brick to be a strong framelock. Alot of Russian designs seem to be slender and longer and lighter, vs American or even European more beefy knife design.

Personally I am glad the industry has moved away from whoever has the thickest slab of Ti wins.

Holy shit, did those JUST show up?

I checked for new sprint runs just few days ago......

What's up with the stonewashed one? Custom? Foreign?

I am just seeing a blue sprint run in all titanium.

NVM: Found both

I'm not a zt fan boy as I only have two, but I was sitting here playing with moy 0620 and 0562 and got to wondering how they give us their product at their price point.

I concur about ZTs remarkable bang for the buck. I’m a huge Chris Reeve Knives fanboy but my 0350SW gets most of the work done around here. Bought it from a cop on another forum and it was the second best hundred dollars I ever spent.

After spending some more time with them I definitely prefer these to the CF model. They are even lighter too (the "show" side is heavily relieved inside) despite feeling so much more dense and solid in the hand.

I hope more of the future sprint runs are full Ti as well as one of these with a superior blade steel (M390, S90V) and maybe some colored backspacers would be perfection in my mind.

The all ti model weighs 5.09 oz and the carbon fiber 4.63. Specs from bladehq.

Kershawguy (where I got mine from) has the TI models at 4.3oz.

My ZT catalog has the CF at 4.6.

Not sure about this particular model but my experience with other full ti models (sebenza, ti millie, zt0801) is that snail trails on the ti handle appear fairly quickly and easily (while for cf scales it is not a problem at all), which can hurt the resale value.

I always make sure to have nothing but the knife in the pocket so that I don't get metal on metal contact. That way there are no scratches, snail trails, etc.

ZT says 4.3 for the CF. Weigh the ti, it's over 5.
