First time poster, here. I had one five years ago that developed lock rock but the company took care of that quickly and pleasantly. After I got it back I never had an another issue. I carried it for about a year before i eventually flipped it when something else came along and got my attention. I will say that of all the knives I've owned and flipped over the years, the hest is the only one I ever regretted or missed. So I ordered a new one. Have they made any notable changes to the design in the last few years?
I’m sorry - I didn’t look at this closely and thought you were referring to a post from a different thread.I recommended the HEFT not the HEST. The HEFT is a fixed blade.

I wouldn't own one because RYP is a tool and there are few stupider looking company logos on earth. Why not get a lionsteel folder branded as such?
Id never own anything associated with that idiot RYP.
Generic knives with moronic looking logo, as others have said.
The more fanatic part of the fanbase are sad basement keyboard ninjas buying into the would-be operator lies. Not all fans of course - but they are there, Mantis-style.
RYP once PMed people on a forum and threathened to sue, if posts about him was not taken down.
He was laughed at and nothing of course came of it.
A sad sack.
'Black Flag Cafe' - farce.
Id of course never go to a BF dedicated DPX forum and take a dump ... but then of course RYP threw a spectacular tantrum here complete with gnashing teeth and was banned from here/left in a huff with panties in a bunch a long time ago.
Its all easily researched.
This turned in to a dumping ground about RYP. I get it. I have been around here a long time and remember what all happened. He would not be the first maker to do something stupid on here, or in other places. I kind of thought over time that some would forgive and forget, but that seems dependent on whose name is on the knife.
I bought a new DPX HEFT fixed blade recently and really like it. Now I'm considering one of their folders, preferably in Sleipner since I have never owned a knife in that steel, I have read good things though.
Anyway, the folders look cool, but the titanium lock seems to be a weak point. I have read compaints about lock stick, and it being prone to damage if put under too much pressure. Also, on the D2 models, I read that the lock can wear down faster than normal. Keep in mind that I have only held one DPX folder but have no experience using them. For those of you that know about them, please share your experience. Would you recommend them?
Glad to hear the knives are good nowadays. You're probably right, it's time we get over it.
I mean, there'd be nobody left to buy from if we stopped buying from all the makers who spazzed out after putting out products with issues, to the point that they were flaming and actually doxing one of their customers while throwing a tantrum here . . .
Thanks did not know that. Southern Grind makes some nice stuff! The Lionsteel Made DPX are/were top notch. Fit and finish were great and problems were very rare. The G10 Hest Urbans were made by Florian and were decent but being honest I think the quality coming from Lionsteel was a little better. The newest Full Ti DPX Hest Urban is made by Southern Grind out of Atlanta and they are top notch. I think it is the best fit/finish overall quality DPX folder made to date.
