how i wasted my sunday....

Man, you guys sure can whip up sick edges. At first I wondered about that. Then I realized that it's kinda like shooting too. There's local talent(that's me) and there's Adam Tyc(World Class). I think it's the same with sharpening. Local talent(me) world class(you guys). I hope to get mirror edges freehand one day. :D

Yeah, don't be mislead. I've seen high quality photos of people's edges like Knifenut's and mine isn't quite as nice. I think I need a higher grit stone but I'm not sure what the next step up is from the Spyderco ultrafine. Sure I can ask, but once I get that answer, I'm gonna have to spend knife money on a stone. I really dislike spending knife money on sharpening equipment:p.

I am a little late to the party, but yesterday I went about testing a knife I made and broke it:( It was too pretty to toss so I glued it back together and it will be a reminder of what not to do while making a knife.

I can echo that statement.

I dislike spending the money...I know exactly what I want to improve on, and exactly how I would like to go about improving, but it means getting larger versions of what I already have.

The stuff I have is so nicely broken in too...I really do not want to start over...

Cut an acre back yard with a push mower :o. After my shower, decided to try and get my Bob T Slipit just a little bit sharper (professionally sharpened by a local maker), and got it super sharp, and then just shot it all to hell. Got hair shaving sharp edges on my Opinel 8 and an old Kutmaster stockman.

I got some ink done...

CM, good to see you are polishing up your marketability in this job market!!!!!;):D

Just keep them off the face, head and neck. If necessary, you can move some where really cold, and just wear long sleeves and gloves all the time. :D

Naw, freehand.

"Naw, freehand" Dude that is sick, your the man because to arrive at those kinda polished edges free hand is ABSURD. Those are awesome, man could you pm and drop some knowledge on sequence/procedure from start to finish, because those things are sick.

Thanks for sharing those pix
