How influenced are you by .....

So much that it makes me lie to myself. If you buy this one its the last one for a long while, then another comes along. It's a no win situation.

I'm sure we all take into account the good, bad, and ugly of the knives that get posted here, but how much does that influence your desire to actually buy, or not buy, any particular knife? Are you a disciplined buyer, who always knows what knife you want to buy next? Or do you just have kind of a general idea of what knife you'd be interested in, and use the pics/info to help make a final decision? Or are you like a bumblebee, flitting from flower to flower, and whatever knife you happen to be looking at at the moment could very well turn out to be your next purchase? Not sayin' one style is better than another .....

I must admit that I don't fall into the "disciplined" category - probably much more of the second & third type of buyer. How about you?

I'm a disciplined buyer. I get ideas and collect information on brands and designs from the Forums, but I study and target specific knives that I want.

There are many knives posted here that I can appreciate, but would never buy for myself.
