How are you guys liking your magnacut? Is it living up to the hype? What would you compare its edge retention to? So far I dig it! Easy to sharpen takes a pretty fine edge and the market is flooded with it! My example is a spyderco who usually has great heat treat!

In line for a car wash yesterday, I found myself wondering if my jalopy's frame and body panels could be made from it. But I remembered that I don't use my car to cut things.

I have not yet needed to sharpen any of the knife specimens in my stable.

I think it's cool. It does what Larrin designed it to do.

In normal everyday use, I don't notice a huge difference from stuff like Benchmade's or Spyderco's S30V, S45VN, and Kershaw's 14C28N.

That might change with an example from a custom maker who obsesses over the heat treat process.

I used a few steels in it, then found myself going back to old favorites. At the moment I neither have a Knife in magnacut or an old favorite, buy for the knife now and the steel is what it is--- back to magnacut i am something special, I had a sharp enough knife in it and tried to strop it and managed to make it duller 🙄🤣
Reminds me of when 3v was new and it was everywhere l, now its magnacut, soon itll be max, then so on and so on.
A knife made well in magnacut is definitely a user though

A Buck 112 in Magnacut has been my most used knife over the last 2+ years. I've always liked S35VN's combination of toughness, ability to hold an edge, and relative ease of sharpening. I think Magnacut takes all those properties to the next level.

Only have a plain edge Native Salt. The factory edge lasted a long time, i let it go really dull. It was easy to sharpen to shaving sharpness. No rust. Works as advertised. So i went ahead and bought a serrated edge magnacut native chief and received it today. I am sure it will outcut my serrated edge lc200n native (which can cut for like three weeks if used hard every day).
