How long do you keep a new knife...

Sadly I keep them new forever !
That's why I prefer buying very good knives slighty USED :^D

Normally , I do a lot of reading of reviews and research BEFORE I buy .

Upon receipt , I carefully examine and handle the knife for feel and function , or any outstanding defects .

If I return , it is always to the seller , so I decide ASAP and return right away or not at all .

I very rarely return a knife , and usually only if there is something very wrong with it ...as in not genuine or somehow badly defective .

I tend to keep them all, FOREVER , unless something is badly wrong . :p

I've given away and donated knives but never yet sold one .

Also had a bunch stolen, all at one time .

I keep all my knives, unless faulty, in which case I’ll return it.
Some I love straight away and always love, some grow on me , some I love but that love fades.
I never sell though.

I sometimes include a coin with the knife, for knives as gifts, but in most cases if you're giving someone the gift of a knife and it's not sticking out of them, they're pretty grateful. When I gave someone my old US Army Utility Knife I practically had to pay them to take it, because those things are so bad.

I don't pay much attention to superstitions or fads much, especially goofy sayings. But the giving of a coin when someone gives you a knife is a pretty cool superstition.

I will keep a new knife as long as I am enjoying it and then I will sell it to someone else to enjoy...........
