How long does it take you to do a hidden tang

Even my slow and cautious approach takes only about 3 hours in real time. Clearly, there are faster ways, but I'm in no hurry. Haste makes waste.

Its rare that I finish a knife in less than one month. I work part time, slowly and deliberately, and I spend a lot of time of detail. Mind you, I'm also counting the time spent making the sheath as well. I imaging I average about 20-30 hours per knife/sheath over that time. I'll likely also have several other projects underway that I may tinker with also in that same period..... how do I count that time??

For a quick fit,... you can drill a pilot hole (scrape it out more rectangular if needed), grease or wax the tapered tang, fill the hole with epoxy, slide the tang in and when the epoxy gets "leather hard", release the tang and you'll have a perfect fit and you can slide the handle off and on.

Tried that for the first time a few weeks ago. I used Vaseline on all the parts I wanted epoxy free and let it cure completely. Worked like a charm and the fit is much better than what I could do by hand, no matter the time I spent on it. Not going back for sure.
