How long has it been since you last cut yourself?

I was in the woods today making pauite deadfalls and a new firebowdrill set and after about an hour of constant knife useage I guess I got a litle carless.

My Battle Mistress slipped and sunk into my left thumb and forefinger at first I knew it was a stitcher.

Fortunately it wasn't that bad.

I haven't cut myself before today for about three years. Thats not bad considering I use a knife everyday.

Geez, I don't want to say, I might jinx myself! LOL
It's been a long time though.
(knocking furiously on wood, throwing salt over my shoulder, and rubbing my lucky rabbit's foot all at the same time.)

On second thought, scrap the rabbit's foot.
The rabbit had four and they didn't do HIM any good!

About 23 hours. I nicked myself last night, but it didn't bleed at the time. THis morning, I had blood. Very slight.

I do this once or twice per week. I keep a box of bandaids next to my chair in the LR. Probably should keep one here by the PC, but tho I try to handle knives some, typing makes that difficult, so rarely get myself bloody on the forums.

The last time was about a month ago but it was so bad I've been extra careful since. Took off the tip of my thumb doing nothing more exciting than slicing vegetables in the kitchen.

About 3 days ago. I am a whittler and cuts are frequently a part of the deal. Play with knives and you will get cut. The only questions are how often and how badly.

Last time was a little less than a month ago. Cutting a piece of duck tape around the house and forgot the basic rule....NEVER CUT TOWARD YOURSELF!. My knife gave my pinky finger a little kiss to remind me of how much it loves me

arrrgh!

just reading this thread gives me the willies. dropped my carry on my forefinger a few weeks ago. before that, i hadn't nicked myself for a couple of years. i was transitioning between blade up and down grips by using a quick palm spin. the balance on a starmate is a little blade heavy. it over-rotated slightly right into my knuckle. cuts happen all the time.

What time is it now?

No..actually its been about two weeks. I got my Sebenza about three weeks ago and within a day or two of messing about trying to get used to the opening movement I managed somehow to catch just the side of my trigger finger on the blade and shave off a thin bit of skin. It was bleeding like crazy but I did manage to hide it from my wife. Then about a week later just about the time it was no longer painful to hit against anything somehow I did exactly the same thing and opened it again. Now its very nearly healed and I've been cut free for the last little while though I was taken a little by surprise by the strong backspring of my new Victorinox SAK and the blade nearly got me when closing. It was the difference in sharpness that saved me. If that had been my Sebbie there'd have been blood everywhere but the SAK just scraped me and didn't break the skin.

Hmm...must have been last Sunday! I was playing around with my newly sharpened BM Mini-TSEK and closed the blade on mt thumb, just before the nail! Not much pain though.
First time I have cut myself in a long time except on paper and cardboard. I hate that even more than with a knife!

Cut my thumb with a newly sharpened Ken Onion Whirlwind while I was cutting some cardboard about 3 weeks ago. I left a trail of blood all the way to the first aid kit

It's been a long time. Maybe six months? I was showing one of our multitools to a couple of employees and as I was closing a blade, it clipped my finger, cutting it deeply. I dropped the tool, grasped my finger, and ran for the bathroom. This one bled for awhile. One of my employee's hands was really close and she thought she had bumped me, causing it to happen. It wasn't for about 20 minutes before I was available to explain what happened. She was nervous I'd be upset with her.

Me upset? That doesn't happen.

I cut my finger about three weeks ago; the first time in 10 years. I was cut within one minute of opening my new Buck 110 in BG-42. I was just testing the sharpness of the edge on my finger......... The knife was much sharper than anything I'd ever handled before. Even sharper than my Marbles.

The cut wasn't deep though. It was what I call a warning cut, warning me to start being more careful!!! All it needed was a tiny bandaid and I was back in action.

well, saturday night i was at a concert and cut my head open pretty badly on some guy's teeth... but the last time i was bitten by a knife was about 3 weeks ago. i cut myself flipping a balisong, which has been a rare occurrence over the last couple months (the cutting that is, not the flipping.

peace.

About a year ago, I dropped my SOG SEAL knife while camping. It was dark and I knew the knife was just by my foot so I went to pick it up assuming that it was lying flat on the ground (stupid assumptions). The blade was proped up on a tree root and I sliced the back side of my little finger pretty badly.

Didn't even think about using a flashlight to see where it was. Last time I do that!!!

Funny I've nicked myself slightly 3 or 4 times over the last few weeks, but none of them were serious enough to even band-aid. Last time it was bad enough to require time to treat was a couple of months now, and the last time it was bad enough to require stiches was a few years back...

My last time was around the first week of June. I was at a forumite's place grinding the false edge on his CRKT Tighe Tac. We had also had some beers.
Bad combination
